Though not advertised on their site just yet, readers of the latest edition of EDGE Magazine may have already spotted an ad for the first Split/Second: Velocity DLC pack linked with super online retail outlet Play.com. Enticing speed freaks with free wares, early bird purchasers of Black Rock Studio’s upcoming racer will enjoy what we assume to be the first of many DLC packs completely free of charge.
This is hardly the first time a retailer has constructed a tantalising snare to attract potential new customers, and we suspect such underhanded tactics to (hopefully) continue in the ongoing battle for gamers’ cash.
No news just yet of what the DLC pack actually contains, but we’re going to go out on a limb here and predict “extra cars” with the possibility of a new track thrown in for good measure. Or, it could be a go-faster alloy petrol cap. Probably the former to be honest.
