Sony is pushing forward with the movie adaption of Uncharted with a number of directors in line. Top of the pile is David O. Russell who is somewhat of a strange choice. His previous movies being ‘I Heart Huckabees’ and ‘Three Kings’ as well his directorial debut, mother and son incest story ‘Bingo Inferno’ and indie flick, ‘Spanking The Monkey’.
Writers Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheime have finished the script and the studio is said to like what they have produced. Sony may even try fast tracking the project forward and try and fill a gap in their 2011 schedule. ‘Dark Knight’ producer, Charles Roven, has also signed up for the big screen adventures of Drake & Co.
If Nathan does make it to 2011 he won’t be the only Playstation favourite on the big screen as psychopathic pairing Kane & Lynch will be hitting the multiplexes. According to Wikipedia the movie will star Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx (true) and will be based on the video game Dora the Explorer: Journey to the Purple Planet (suprisingly, not true.)
