Uncharted: Fight For Fortune Revealed

[drop2]Sony have officially released the first details on Uncharted: Fight For Fortune, the PS Vita game we picked up on a few weeks back.

It’s from Bend, the developers behind the first PS Vita Uncharted game, and is – apparently – “an action-adventure turn-based card game featuring the heroes and villains from the Uncharted universe.”

“The core gameplay involves creating a team of Faction cards featuring heroes, villains and mercenaries from the Uncharted universe, and using that team to defeat your opponent while defending yourself from their attacks,” says Bend’s Chris Reese.

“Each Faction card can be equipped with powerful Resource and valuable Fortune cards, which enhance their stats and give them special abilities. Once you’ve selected and equipped a card, it’s time to head into battle!”

“During combat, attacks either reduce the health of opposing Faction cards or the health of your opponent. Defeating an opposing Faction card removes it from play, while reducing the health of your Opponent to zero wins you the game.”

There’ll be a patch for Uncharted: Golden Abyss soon that will increase the artefacts found in that game, and make them ready for use in Fight For Fortune. “Using the artefacts found within Golden Abyss, you can go to battle with other players as well as AI opponents,” says Reese, although Golden Abyss is not required to play Fight For Fortune.

  1. Oh, you got me excited there for a second or two.

  2. I have to say, I think this is bloody brilliant. As someone who thoroughly enjoyed the utter nonsense that is Devil’s Attorney, on the iPhone, I’d love to try this. Then again, I don’t have a Vita but still… great to see variety like this coming out.

    • One of the great things about gaming at the moment is the diversity. Developers cannot please everyone nor should they try. I think there is enough gamers who enjoy these style of games that if they budget the development right and price it right it could do quite well.

I was hooked on the Marvel Trading Card game a few years back. The strategy that goes into building a deck and then playing it was really addictive. If those elements are well though out, this could be a really good game.

  3. Uncharted Ultimate Team! This looks good to me, like a nice strategy game!

Anyway….this explains why Uncharted is being given away with PS+.

    • Oh no, will this bring you addiction back of opening packs? if it does, I’m all for it! :)

      • I know, think of the shinies!!!

        “Just one more pack…”

  4. Well this sucks but it can’t be worser than AC liberation MP

  5. Pretty good idea, it looks a lot like a more in depth version of that card game in RAGE, which i thought was pretty good

  6. God I hope this is as good as Metal Gear Acid.

    • I miss that game. It was a great way of playing MGS

  7. Could be cool. But I’d rather have a Magic The Gathering game for my Vita.

  8. lol this sounds really shit, run out of ideas for the series so time to milk it with some junk the fanboys will love

    • Oh, they’re far from out of ideas. But this is a cash in on a known IP.

    • Sounds like fun if you enjoy card games.

  9. Surprised they went for a card game spin-off instead of the traditional kart racer.

    • A Double Dash with Jeeps and RPGs could be awesome!

    • It’s not Naughty Dog, so there’s hope yet!

  10. Got slightly excited there when i read the headline, then i saw turn based card game and everything came crashing down!

Oh by the way how does a turn based card game be an action adventure game at the same time? (Not been smart just wondering) :)
