Speaking to GameTrailers, Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg has been pushing Kinect’s pricing as a key feature for the motion control device over Sony’s Move, despite the actual price still being kept a secret.
“I know the price,” he said in the interview, picked up by TVGB, “I think you’re going to really like the price. It’s gonna be a tough holiday for Sony,” he continued, bullishly.
He also seemed to think the Microsoft E3 press conference went down well. “We sat through the other competitive press briefings,” he said, “and people were very pleased with our position. I like being at Microsoft this holiday.”
He said that the only reason the price of Kinect is a secret is so that Microsoft “get more coverage” when it’s finally unveiled.

I gave Mr Greenberg V sign but he ddn’t see me as i was sitting down..
Kitch
That made me giggle. Aren’t they open to a lawsuit as wheelchair bound gamers are being ignored?
PriceKitty
Microsoft is going to get the majority of sales anyway.
They’re probably the most popular brand out there.
Hurrr.
Bladesteel
Depends on what you mean by “there”.
Unfortunately what will sell most out of move and kinect is mostly NOT about which one is better. It’s all about the number of consoles already out there, price and marketing, marketing and then more marketing.
It doesn’t really make sense to start guessing at sales numbers util we’ve seen the advertising, and more of the games lineups, since to the uninformed masses those count more than the actual quality of the stuff.
Cray2k
Since Nitallllllllll-I mean Kinect was unvailed it donsn’t seem like M$ can do anything right, defonetly a case of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory

The last 10 years always the opposite happened of what Microsoft’s employees told the press. From iPod to iPad they never seemed able to keep up and the same is happening these days on their gaming platform. There is no incentive in buying a 360 as it has totally no exclusives. Gamers start to notice this and don’t see the added value as perceived by Microsoft.
Fat_lazy_slug
All CoD DLC is MS timed exclusive for the next 3 years. Gamers will notice that.
ruinereraser
I’ll surely notice another ubermilked franchise with overpriced DLC. Thanks, no thanks.
Ryan1991
So this guy is delusional. There is no way anyway thinks that the MS Conference went well.
Kevling
The other day my wife (who has very little interest in any game that doesn’t have “The” and “Sims” on the title) turned to me and said “Have you heard about the new Xbox? It doesn’t need a controller!”
It’s all down to what the aim of the conference was, We may not think the conference was great, but it’s done its job and through media coverage of it has got product awareness out to non-gamers already…
bunimomike
Completely agree, Kevling. People who check gaming sites religiously, following E3, and are pretty avid gamers will know about the options. But from a casual gamer’s perspective who knows about Move, Kinect, etc? Microsoft seem to market to the whole world whereas Sony simply don’t seem to try at times.Their Unique Selling Points are accuracy and “real games” (which I appreciate is a generalisation but it’ll be perfect for adverts). Sony need to shout those two things from the rooftops of every developed nation.
Jas-n
We really need some KB action over here.
And whilst move probably won’t have the marketing, like Kinect will have, other PlayStation brands will move, a lot.
Take GT5, there are a lot of people (aparently) waiting for the GT5 before they buy a ps3. There’s also the rest that game will sell.
ruinereraser
Typical Greenberg. World does not end at US borders, mister.
Tanzil
Although we can see the problems with Kinect and how move is superior for all types of games whilst kinect is limited in that sense, we have to accept that this mutha is gonna sell, it’s going to sell like the Wii and what sold the Wii was it’s gimmicks and casual appeal. This’ll do the same, even though Sony has the better idea, unfortunately people like shiny things, not practical things
STILLCANTTHINKOFAGOODPSNNAME
but the problem with that argument is that the wii is a inexpensive one time purchase (apart from the wiimotes) but kenect will require you to buy a xbox and kenect just so you can wave your hands around. but i do agree that the idea is more attractive to the uninformed. and yes you will need a playstation to use move but (must resist fanboyisim) the playstation is possibly a more attractive investment also how many people got a playstation through a contract phone deal because my sister and she has a wii so is familiar with the consept of move
squashme
agree people who have had wii and lets face it there arnt many people that havent had 1 or played on 1 are gonna feel right at home with Move like has been said umptine times kinect is just the Playstation 2 Eyetoy souped up its jus a stupid webcam the Playstation can do everything that kinect can do and more look at the eye of judgement ok i thinks it crap but MS havent shown anything near as good as that for kinect and the PSEye doesnt have any lag and if it does i havent noticed any so it must be very minimal
STILLCANTTHINKOFAGOODPSNNAME
@squashme have you used move
Danza Di Fuoco
pfft Microsoft btw Don Mattrick? how the hell can the both have same idiocicy?
Radiitz
If that guy is saying that he thinks the MS Conference went well, then I ain’t going to start believing anything he says.
