GT5 Has Stunt Arenas & Karting

A new interview on PlayStation com with SCE President Shuhei Yoshida has revealed a couple of secrets regarding Gran Turismo 5. He says:

“Not only will Gran Turismo 5 deliver an even more comprehensive set of cars and courses than gamers saw with previous iterations, it will also feature new game-enhancing graphical effects such as damage, night racing and weather.”

“These innovations are twinned with the option to join millions of like-minded individuals globally within the Gran Turismo community and to find a driving experience to suit, whether that is taking on the Top Gear test track, chucking cars around stunt arenas, go-karting, creating and sharing your own track or intense head-to-head races. Who, where and what to drive is completely down to the individual.”

Night driving and damage we knew about, track creation had been rumoured and now it seems confirmed. Stunt arenas and go karting are new, is there anything GT5 won’t be able to do?

  2. More and more features that are making the constant push-backs more and more worthwhile. I’m no driving game fan generally, but I will most certainly be getting this.

    • I second that. I’m not a huge racing fan and GT5 has certaily looked amazing but wasn’t really on my radar as a game I was going to get but that is rapidly begining to change the more I hear about it.

    • I’m a massive racing game fan and cannot wait wait till this is released as it’s getting better and better with time.
      All those delays will be worth the wait.

  5. Does sound pretty good, and I am interested in maybe one day getting the game. The only thing that slightly concerns me is that there is the potential that they’ve taken on too much – hopefully it wont suffer on the whole from having too many features.

    • Polyphony Digital always comes up with the goods.

    • Cannot believe you have doubt in your mind about Polyphony. Been delayed so many times because won’t release a game that is 99% perfect. It’s gotta be 100%

      • Maybe GT6 will be so realistic that when you crash your car Kazunori Yamauchi leaps from the nearsest bush to replicate the damage on your actual car with a brand baseball bat.

      You are right though, there is nothing they can do anymore to make this game or its sequel better..

  10. kl, game sounds really good! November will be here before we know it! i wonder if the go-karting mode will stiffen up the Logitec wheels…
