GT5 Has Stunt Arenas & Karting

A new interview on PlayStation com with SCE President Shuhei Yoshida has revealed a couple of secrets regarding Gran Turismo 5. He says:

“Not only will Gran Turismo 5 deliver an even more comprehensive set of cars and courses than gamers saw with previous iterations, it will also feature new game-enhancing graphical effects such as damage, night racing and weather.”

“These innovations are twinned with the option to join millions of like-minded individuals globally within the Gran Turismo community and to find a driving experience to suit, whether that is taking on the Top Gear test track, chucking cars around stunt arenas, go-karting, creating and sharing your own track or intense head-to-head races. Who, where and what to drive is completely down to the individual.”

Night driving and damage we knew about, track creation had been rumoured and now it seems confirmed. Stunt arenas and go karting are new, is there anything GT5 won’t be able to do?

  1. How does this all fit on one disc!?! the amount of detail and stuff is unreal :O

  2. Are they never planning on doing a GT6 then, they seem hell bent on making sure GT5 is the only possible car simulator you will ever need!

If this was an Activision release Bobby Kotick would have been charging £99 for this game!

    • try £150 and a subscription fee and £20 DLC and 6 sequels and peripherals and a film and TV show and clothing and toys and a breakfast cereal and other things

      • you forgot the lunchbox

      • ..and also required online connection even when playing SP.

  3. Wow. This actually sounds incredible for one game.

If they can make everything theyve put into the game work well and not just a ticked box on the packaging then this will be the best driving simulator out there.

I look forward to buying it!

  4. It’s a shame the couldn’t have cut the go-karts and stunt tracks and instead put damage modelling on more than 200 of the cars, but track creation sounds good.

    • If you’ve seen damage on one car, you’ve seen it on them all. I kind of agree with you, but extending GT to different types of racing I feel is worth it. It will be interesting to see if they go any smaller… Nitro RC racing anyone?

  5. Wow. That is all.

  6. This is massive news! :| I follow the S1 championships, so having karting in GT has reeeeally made my day. :D

  7. Could I want this game more…no…GIVE IT ME KNOW!!!! XD

  8. “is there anything GT5 won’t be able to do?”
I challenge it to be released before November. Fail! :-)

  9. Game will be perfect. Vettel and Newey helping with development, create your own tracks, beautiful graphics and the most realistic racing ever. Perfect.

  10. Yes, but will it be better than mario kart though?
