Creative Director of Microsoft Game Studios, Peter Molyneux, has been forced at gunpoint to give an interview to the press. You know how much Peter hates talking to games journalists, we’re lucky to get three words a year out of him as he’s so busy writing games.
“I find it hard in my mind to differentiate between the Sony Move and the Wii,” Said Molyneux, “They seem very similar in their scope. I know Sony and Nintendo would argue that they are different, but they kind of seem the same. “
Balls, Peter. That’s the difference, Move has a glowing ball. Have you not noticed?
“This is not me talking as a Microsoft employee,” continued Peter, “this is me talking as a designer, but I have to take my hat off to Microsoft because they really did go one step beyond what they needed to do. It would be very easy for them to have created something like the Wii, but instead they did go that extra mile and they said, ‘No, we’re going to make that huge step’. I think the real benefits are going to be shown in the next wave of titles that come out. ”
Microsoft did indeed go that extra mile. Quite a few extra miles in fact, all the way to Israel to buy up another company and use their tech for Kinect. Also, if ‘the real benefits are going to be shown in the next wave of titles’ what is the Creative Director of Microsoft Games saying about launch titles?

‘No, we’re going to make that huge step’ I suppose you need to make huge steps in order for the bloody thing to work ;)

Move=Wii
Kinect=Eye toy
Wii>Eyetoy
Move wins!!!
HAHAHA

In my humble opinion a good control scheme is one that works with whatever game a developer wants to make while a bad control scheme is one thah forces developers to design a game around it.
Tell Epic to create Gears of War 3 and have it fully controlled using Kinect and it would be a mess.
Also as Sony have found this generation and an issue I think has not yet been touched on is what happens when the majority of multi platform developers get their hands of Kinect and think about developing games for it.
They will calculate the best way of making money from a title is to make it for both Kinect and PS Eye as multiplatform = more money.
As we’ve seen with Ports of PS3 games when compared to 1st party titles multiplatform developers will develop a game for the less powerful system (weather it be storage space, grphics etc…) then release it over all the target platforms.
Logically this means games will be developed with the aim of getting the best quality avaliable through the PS eye then released on PS3 and 360. So Kinects superority will not be demonstrated in at least some releases from 3rd parties. Kinect may be Microsofts PS3 in terms of 3rd party developers letting the side down.

I bloody hate all the dick swinging PR bullshit, does it convince anyone? really?? It gets regurgitated by fanboys in arguements sure, but that lot are just as tautological as religious types.
All the consoles are good and as a gamer I sincerely hope that all peripheral hardware does well too, as we will, in all likelihood, see some great games for each.
I doubt I’ll be an early adopter of either of the new techs though as the only interesting prospect for myself at this stage is Child Of Eden and I’ve a sneaking suspiscion that’ll control best with a pad if you want your %100 completions a la REZ.
Kendo or Kenjutsu sim for Move please and a Wing Chun game for Kinect :D

Oh yeah, and MS are original since they have controllers with two analogue sticks, a directional pad, four buttons, four shoulder buttons etc.etc.
Essentially a fatter PS3 controller.

See to me, and this isnt a fanboy thing, its the way the tech is shown. Kinect is a progression of eyetoy and thats all it has show so far, Move is a proression of Wii. the differance is Wii emulated allot of stuff on screen with waggles yea it does some motion stuff but allot of games its all about waggles. and the screen doth the rest.
move tracks the glowing ball, everything is based on ball tracking yeah its got those fancy waggle stuff but the ball is the differance.
