Once again our fearless frontman, Lee, is off in the wild, leaving you all having to make do with a somewhat less charismatic replacement – me – but I shall try my best not to disappoint, too much. Sure, he could have left the duty to one of the other guys but they’ve all had their turn and it’s mine now. Just don’t expect anything too profound or sensical to follow.
So, who might I be? Well, I’m the guy in the background thats been hard at work on our engine, tools and supporting tech. I bring with me a ton of experience and knowledge, but I must say that without the rest of the guys, we wouldn’t be where we are today – which may not seem very far to all of you, but we’ve all learnt a lot about game development over the past few months – including me. Anyway, I doubt you’re here to hear about me.
I have an announcement for you this week! No, it’s not the one you’ve been waiting for, but just as exciting. We’ve added a new member to the team. Marty will be joining us on the art side to get things rolling on Project Blast!, and hopefully other projects in the future. He’s a really talented guy and I think that we have an awesome art department covering every angle to make our games look top notch, professional and polished.
I’m sure you’ll all want to hear about the progress of “Project 2”. As Lee has mentioned in the last few posts, we’re ‘full steam ahead’ with getting ready to let you all know what exactly Project 2 is. Mostly, this has little to do with the actual project itself and a lot more to do with the websites, marketing, PR, legalities, etc that goes along with it.
From a code perspective, the feature list for Project 2 has now been finalised, which means that no new features can be added – only existing features refined. It’s always tempting to just add in new things that you couldn’t have thought of at project inception – “Wouldn’t it be cool if…? Yeah, let’s do it!” – but if we carried on like that, we’d never finish the project. The fact of the matter is, your game can alway be better but unless you stop, you’re the only one who’s ever going to play it. You guys do want to play it, don’t you?
That’s just about all I have to report for this issue. Thanks for reading! We’re moving along slowly and just starting to find our legs, but someday (relatively soon!) we’ll be running with the big boys.

Hey gnipper. Interesting to read about the cut-off point where you have to say enough is enough then start refining. I’m guessing that was a trick you learnt from Polyphony Dig… hahahaha! *bursts into laughter*
Sorry if you guys have already mentioned this but are you all in daytime jobs with this fitting around it?
