It may now be half a year since MAG was released, but Zipper have just announced yet another substantial update that is sure to excite fans of the game.
Version 1.07 will bring with it two major features. Firstly, following the successes of the newly faction-neutral Sabotage mode, Supression will also be going the same way. What this means in practice is that rather than pre-defined factions warring on each map, any PMC can face off against any other on any Supression map. Secondly, Zipper are introducing a ‘happy hour’ system to the game, that grants players a double experience bonus during their first hour of gameplay in a 24-hour period. It’s great to see that the game is still being updated with new features that keep the game fresh and exciting.
The update will also feature redesigned versions of the Flores Basin and Alyeska Terminus maps from the game’s Domination mode that will “include new obstacles and repaired exploits” – I for one am glad to be hearing that. There’s new, faster patching code that means players will be able to jump in to the game as seamlessly as possible as the developers continue to update the game with new features and content. In addition, the lighting system in the game is being updated (which should help to silence those who constantly go on about the game’s graphics), and there are of course the normal fixes and minor additions.
There’s no date yet for the update, aside from that it will appear in August, but the patch notes will apparently be released next week, so I wouldn’t think the update itself would be too far behind.

Is this worth getting still, or will it be too hard to get into now with everyone highly levelled?

Not at all, the higher levels just mean you get some slightly better guns and perks. You’ll unlock those pretty soon yourself.
Also, there’s the incentive to start over a few times to switch PMC and get imaginary but real trophies.
And it doesn’t matter your level, when you’ve got to be working together as a team, more than individual skill.
