Milo & Kate creator Peter Molyneux has admitted that getting the game a commercial release is going to be difficult, due to the fact the player is interacting with a young boy. The game has been on and off for ages now – to the point where we aren’t actually sure if it’s a game or just a tech demo.
Molyneux has revealed that “three or four hours” of the game is “release quality” – but that he has “mountains to climb” to get it on shelves;
“I think [consumers will get to play it] eventually, I do.
There’s a lot of huge mountains to climb before that happens. The reason for that is it is enormously contentious for us to do a game, a story, an experience, about a boy. You are immediately appealing to all the dark thoughts of humanity.
I actually love that, the idea of being so contentious that it makes people turn around and say, ‘You can’t do a story about a boy.’ But, for me, doing that in that way is absolutely right.
After all, for me one of the best films I saw last year was about an old man and a Boy Scout. It was called Up (Pixar and Disney’s Oscar-winning animated film). If I described for you this story, ‘It’s about an old man and a Boy Scout, strangers meeting and living together and going on adventures, you’d say, ‘You can’t do that. It’s out of the question.’
What you look for in drama and story is uniqueness and you look for experiences that people haven’t had before and I think it’s good to get it on a contentious level.”
Is anyone really that interested anymore? The Milo ship is rapidly sailing away.

That is the stupidest excuse for not releasing a game I ever heard when you look at general media. Political correctness gone mad. Of course, he is just lying and hyping it up.
Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to load up FFXIII and exercise all my darkest dirtiest thoughts about the little underaged jailbait girl Vanille *drool*

Missed the really good bit – Molyneux “I don’t think of it as a released product at the moment. I still think this is a very, very big tech demo. I don’t think of it as something that would be a boxed product on the shelf.” – also said by Peter Molyneux on June 29th when a MS Exec said Milo was just a Tech Demo and not a release product “I promise you it is now ten times more amazing than you’d expect it to be from what you saw at [E3 2009], because what I showed in Milo then was just a tech demo.”

I love that we live in a world where games about drug running and mass murder are fine, but god forbid we let people play with children in case we all discover our inner paedo.
