2K Games has announced Minerva’s Den – an all-new single-player focused DLC for BioShock 2, set to arrive later this year. In development for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Games for Windows-LIVE, Minerva’s Den is a self-contained story that puts players in the role of an all-new character who has teamed up with Brigid Tenenbaum to unravel a dictator’s stranglehold on a key district in Rapture.
The DLC will allow you to explore Rapture Central Computing – an unknown district of the undersea city. New weapons and a “devastating” new Plasmid are on offer, as well as more dangerous Splicers that command the power of the elements, upgraded Security Bots that throw rockets and lightning bolts, and even a never-before-seen type of Big Daddy.
Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K, had the following to say;
“Minerva’s Den is a substantial addition that will give players more of what they’re looking for: more story, more narrative, more gameplay and more of Rapture.
The core team has created an exciting product that further enhances the mystery and allure of the world of Rapture. Minerva’s Den will be a fitting conclusion to the BioShock 2 saga.”

I got rid of this after i beat it and realised you cant explore like NO.1. Which is a pity because i would of tried this DLC.

That was a big downer for me too, although I kept the game. I love being able to play back through games with all upgrades and just power through. Very satisfying after completing any Very Hard mode :)

This DLC sounds better than half of Bioshock 2’s story.

Sounds good, I really need to go back to this game.
Completed it on Normal, and tried the MP briefly and then shelved it…

I really enjoy the MP, though it took a few games to get into. I like it because even the high levelled players can be taken out with ease as the weapons are all well balanced, and the unlocks just help you hone your own individual style. The use of plasmids adds another dimension the the gameplay as well, it is actually really varied once you sink your teeth into it.

So how does this fit with the story, is it supposed to ‘slot in’ somewhere, or is at after the main storyline? Or is it just a different ‘mission’ you select from the main menu?
Do i need to have completed the story to play it or to gain an appreciation of the dlc story, or is it something that i will be able to just jump straight into?
Singleplayer dlc is always appreciated more than multiplayer add ons (which are 10 a penny these days), but it is a bit confusing!

I played and quite enjoyed the first, but wasn’t so impressed that i rushed out for no2. Don’t know why, just not really interested in it. I think the main positive of the first was the ending, and with that taken away, the core gameplay is kinda average. Rapture is an interesting location, but not so much so that i’m interested in playing through no2.

Still want to play this, despite I haven’t put many time in it the last couple days
