Gamestop GT5 Pre-Order Bonuses

So these are the pre-order bonuses for Gamestop which, yes  I know, are in the U.S., but these things usually find their way to our shores via a different retailer. The first pre-order bonus is for the Gamestop Nascar car, Joey Logano’s #20 Nationwide NASCAR ride. I admit my earlier argument that these things travel to the UK may be slightly misjudged with this car, I doubt HMV would promote Gamestop so just pretend it says “Play.com” down the side and admire the gorgeous detail. Mmm, shiny…

..but not as shiny as this beast, the McLaren F1 Stealth Mode. Made of carbon fibre this car has been tuned for improved performance.

  1. Seeing as Nascar’s American based, maybe we get some Top Gear motive Cee’d, although not as fast as a Nascar… car.
    Or the Stig, we get to do all our racing as the Stig.

    • I LIKE THAT! i really hope we can get some sort of leader board in the reasonably priced car…be interesting to see how fast we can get compared to the real life times. Maybe they could add the gps tracker/timer so we can get a ghost car of a celebs lap

  4. I got an email from Sony this morning saying Play/Amazon/HMV will all have different ones. They sounded good too.

      • I know I’m replying to my own comment, but I noticed that Coulthard was racing a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG around The Isle OF Mann TT track and being filmed in 3D. It was in the Metro this morning. Something to do with GT5? Probably not?

      • Audi R10? is that a step up from the R8.
        It’s a pity none of these retailers are cheap and give good service like shopto.

        I want the 787B, the R10, the SLS and the GTR.
        why can’t pre-order bonuses be PSN based, so if you have the game in the first week you can pick two cars to download, hate all this, “if you want this you have to buy from us”.
        Also I hope these cars are special unlocks/buys (i.e. not like NFS, where you get them free so can race in like a Zonda against people in golfs).

      • the R10 is Audi’s successor to their R8 Le Mans car, and no relation to the ones you can buy for the road.

      • Sorry for another reply, but can’t extend my own comment with a reply, wish ShopTo would have pre-order bonuses, I don’t want to change my pre-order, I’m only Paying £32.85 for it, actually now it makes sense to save me £8

      • Like Jas-n, I also have mine pre-ordered from ShopTo for £32.85, so don’t want to lose a nice little discount on the £40 that most retailers seem to be listing the game for now. Hopefully the Stealth cars will become available on the PSN eventually as they do look pretty cool.

  5. I expect some pre-order bonus stuff here but more likely WRC related than NASCAR, or just some random cars.
    I hope these are not usable online or anything though, it’s annoying when you get an uneven playing field online.

    • Well the McLaren has a weird seating arrangement, so only one American can fit in it, plus if they did get in it the car would be touching the ground so it wouldn’t move therefore the Nascar, specially designed to not go around corners and handle Americans.

  7. bollocks to pre-order bonuses, i hope every car will eventually be available at some point. i know things can be done differently, but I liked the fact that in GRID, everyone could get the cars eventually, when codes started surfacing on the net. I really dislike pre-order bonuses

    • I think these are just a pre-order exclusive colour, I’m sure the 787B will be in it’s rainbow form.

      • Ahh, well if your correct then phew, i want access to all the cars their making me wait for, not fussed on different colours, ill be smashing them up anyway lol

  10. I’d imagine the ‘Chrome Line’ cars will stay exclusive to the Collectors and Signature edition as the people who bought these will have shelled out more cash for them. The ‘Stealth’ vehicles I would imagine will become available eventually to everyone through DLC.

    These bonus cars I think will only become available in the ‘Arcade Mode’. So basically you can drive them as soon as you buy the game. I’d expect that the online games will have the ability to limit the car choice by points (using power, weight etc) similar to prologue to make fair races. The points system was awsome! Allowed uprated Elise to take on Ford GTs and it be competitive!
