Showcased over at the recent PAX extravaganza, Insomniac have uploaded some footage of their new Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One co-op game. Insomniac’s North Carolina Studio Director Chad Dezern also provides some insightful commentary on the action.
Looking exceedingly luscious, the video highlights the cooperative game mechanics available including what looks like an awesome linking and swinging manoeuvre. Ratchet & Clank: All For One is out exclusively for the PS3 next year.

This just does not interest me at all. Im dissapointed Insomniac are making another Ratchet and Clank game, I wish they would move on to something else like a new IP instead of R&C. The gameplay in that video just looked so boring :(.

Well sure they have the new multiplatform IP and Resistance going on aswell but im saying id rather they completely finish with ratchet and put the guys who have been working on this on something else such as “another” new IP or the one already in development.

So long as they’re not currently re-treading old ground, and are mixing things up, I’m happy with the drapes on the game.
It’s a bit like Mario, there’s been so many 2D and 3D platformers, but each one has (until New SMB and SMG2) experimented with something somewhere. So, even if Sunshine didn’t live up to following on from 64, it was different enough for me.

I’m hoping that the auto-camera focusses on your player individually, whilst still trying to keep everyone else in shot too. Otherwise it’ll be a LBP-fest of left behind players…
Also hoping for Move support, so I can point and shoot rather than lock on… One of the banes of R&C is the finicky aiming system, I’ve always thought.
Graphics look lovely too.
I know some people are sick of the R&C characters by now, but I reckon that as a fairly budget title on PSN and 4 player co-op, this is a good step in a new-ish direction, even if individual mechanics stay rather similar.

I’m really quite surprised to see another R+C so soon, its not like theyre massively popular to fans or the general public. I love R+C games but even I thought that four titles in only a 3 years of a generation is a lot.
But saying that it looks really good. The graphics look fantastic and really do look like a Pixar film now. As for the gameplay, I’m not sure on that vacuum thing, looked like it was used an awful lot and I’d like to see more variety.
But I’m interested.

I’m suffering a bit of Ratchet fatigue already, and we’ll see him twice next year with this and his appearance in Heroes On The Move.
But, I like this take on the Lego-style games so ummmm I’m not sure.
It didn’t look the best fun ever though, so we’ll see I suppose

Yeah it doesnt look brilliant which is why I want to see a bit more variety. But I can imagine it would be fun I reckon with friends sitting beside you having a laugh.

I am a great Ratchet and Clank fan but in my opion I will not be buying this because they have ruined it!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t want a co-op based game, I want the normal 3rd person view. Sure co-op would be good but not like this, it looks like a kids party game which is really disapointing :(
A crack in time was fantastic and I played it about 3 times like all the other ratchet games. This just reminds me of Ratchet Gladiator which was a let down because the story was week and the gameplay was repetative.
I think its safe to say Ratchet and clank has outsatyed its welcome, although a Ratchet collection of games 1-3 on Ps3 wouldn’t go a miss.
