One of the big positives regarding Sony’s PlayStation Move device over rival Microsoft’s Kinect technology is how existing franchises can be, relatively quickly and with limited pain, fitted to work with their new motion controller.
Whether or not people will actually play the likes of SOCOM 4 and Killzone 3 with the device remains to be seen, of course, but if you’re looking for an idea of what it’s really like to slaughter Helghast by simply pointing at them, look no further than this demonstration video.
Luckily the footage stars Guerrilla Games’ Senior Producer Steven Ter Heide, a man we’re sure knows a thing or two about stomping around Helghan with a glowing ball … thingy. We’re thinking the rest of us might need some time getting to grips with the new method.
Probably dying wantonly in the process as we do.

I laugh when I see this and then compare it to Halo Reach. I just don’t understand the Halo fanboys, their game still looks about 5 years old compared to KZ2 or 3.
It’ll be interesting to see how tweakable the sensitivities are with Move, still seems like there is a bit of lag but only time will tell if it’s playable or not.

I can take or leave KZ but that looks genuinely lovely with Move. Not sure it’d make for a great gamer in multiplayer but the movement is smooth and enjoyable. The gestures are great.
Good on them for implementing this as a very real option. Top stuff.

I want to see it being played on a normal dualshock controller, because I think the most people are going to use it that way.

This is a demo about the Move controller working with it. We know how it looks with a dualshock :-\

Looks pretty naff with Move to be perfectly honest.

I think the awkward button placements and the learning curve of a split controller will lead anyone experimenting with the alternative to quickly revert to what they know.
The Splitfish split controllers that have been around on the PS3 for a couple of years have hardly made waves so other than some marketing excitement and my own internal hype engine I’d have to say I’m still firmly on the fence for Move as an an alternative control system. Much more interested in compelling standalone experiences at the mo like Table Tennis & Disc Golf which seem to be pick of the launch bunch.
Killzone 3 & MAG/SOCOM will be interesting from a balance point of view but from a personal preference its much easier to slouch and move a thumb than it is to either have a lower arm of my arm raised or make gestures… yes I am that lazy. Other people will of course be different.

Looks pretty good to me, liking the gestures and movements. Can’t wait :)

Won’t know if I like it until I try it. But the chances are I will have a move controller by the time KZ3 is released so will be definatly giving it a go.

It looks alright its not the way i would play it but maybe for a laugh to go through it the second time.
but the better looking move shooter has gotta be socom 4 ill play that all the way through first time with the move.

Looks cool but I’m not sure if, when I want to get serious, I won’t just pop the move aside and grab my DS3

Wow. I’m going to get this for sure!
