Epic Mickey HD: “Talks On-going”

Epic Mickey, currently a Wii exclusive and one of the stand-out titles at this year’s E3, is due for release this Christmas. When asked by Total Video Games about possible ports to Move or Kinect, Junction Point Producer Raul Ramirez seemed to suggest that there was a real possibility.

“I’m not allowed to comment on that, as well; of course that seems to be what everybody feels now that those controls have come in. There are talks going on, but… I don’t know.”

Lead designer, Warren Spector, also recently spoke about the fact there is “no reason technologically” why they couldn’t release Epic Mickey on HD consoles. It appears that things are already progressing in that direction.

  1. Hope this comes to the PS3 – If not my Wii purchase isn’t too far away anyway. Can’t wait for this, looks and sounds amazing.

    • noooo!!!
(are you really going to buy a wii just for this game?)

      • Not just for this no, but for a collection of some of the top games this gen including

        Epic Mickey
        Boom Blox Party
        Donkey Kong Country
        Okami
        Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2
        Sin & Punishment
Zelda Twilight Princess & Skyward Sword
        World Of Goo
        Super Smash Bros Brawl
        Mario Kart
        Metroid Prime Trilogy

And I could easily consume everything off the Virtual Console

      • @cc. Be sure to give to give Zack & Wiki a look too. It’s a much overlooked little gem of a game with some genius use of the wiimote.
Actually, If it ever got ported to PS3 since it now has Move, I’d lay down the readies right now.

  2. Ps3 needs more quality games for the move, so bring it on. What do we have now for the move that’s quality? Sports champions and ruse. That’s it. Get a wiggle on sony and get some good wii games brought across, along with some good new ip’s too.

    • Don’t forget Tumble, Tumble is de sheet!

      • Not my thing. I think it’s too much trial and error, at least from the demo anyway.

    • Not forgetting Resi 5 gold edition too.

      • I am also loving Resi 5 gold with Move. Takes a bit of getting your head around, but once you have it, great fun.

  3. Would love to see this on PS3 with Move support. It looks brilliant. Here’s hoping…

  4. Not sure how it would work on Kinect, but given the similar controller layout between Wii and PS Move it would seem like an obvious business decision if there is no exclusivity deal in place with Nintendo to dictate otherwise…

  5. need to look at some video’s for this, as people say good things about it but ive seen nothing

  6. I don’t really get jealous often about other console exclusives but this really does look great. I’ve read a lot about it and it all just makes me want it more so in summary, I dearly hope this comes to fruition.

  7. I would love this released on PS3 with Move support, I loved the E3 demonstration of it on the Wii, so imagine the upgrades they could do via Move :)

    Notice how on the link provided the wording about it;

“Before Move and Kinect I probably would have said no, because the game is built around gesturing. Now, however, there’s no reason technologically why we couldn’t.

No reason technologically, so that means the console has the technology to pull it off, but I think this is a subtle hint towards a console-exclusive contract with Nintendo but I could be wrong, just throwing my 2 pennies in :)

  8. It’d be great if this came out on Move, Move needs some games to really start selling.

  9. Didn’t they announce they were going exclusively with the Wii for this a while back? If they hadn’t considered the possibility of there being a viable motion option on the other consoles at the time, they may have signed up to more than just a timed-exclusive with Nintendo and might be hoping to re-negotiate. But i know nothing about how all that stuff works, i’m just reading between the lines and making a guess.

  10. Anyone want to donate an Wii to mee so I can play Epic Mickey?
Didn’t think so, anyways it still looks awesome
