Prince Of Persia Trilogy Confirmed

After what seems like months of rumours, it has finally been confirmed that the Prince of Persia Trilogy is indeed set for release on the PS3 in Europe only on November 19th.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones will all feature in HD on one Blu-ray disc – with 3D support thrown in for good measure.

So that’s over 30 hours of gameplay for an RRP of £29.99 – deal or no deal?

  1. Sands of Time was great and am well up for playing this prior to Christmas. The Warrior Within and Two Thrones seem to get bad press after the fact even now but I still really enjoyed them both. £30 for the trilogy sounds great VFM.

I remember the last few days before Christmas last year – my wife was in the front room wrapping pressies for the family and I was playing the God of War collection (imported) with her at my feet (not genuflecting or anything!). Be nice to recreate these moments with another (less bloody) franchise this year.

  2. Deal! Thats good. Not a first day buy, but will definitely but it

  3. yesssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!! and it has trophies. i hope there redo the cutscenes in hd. maybe there might a mgs hd collection *crosses fingers*

    • you’ll know if/when an mgs reboot comes out. i’ll have a twenty-four hour long pleasure-moan that you can hear across state lines. An ‘Orgasm Without Borders’, if you will.

      • if that happens you will have to deal with snake.also i would have to eat my ps3. but a mgs collection would be a system seller and why isn’t sony trying to get mgs remade

      • Wow that would b the day if mgs came out. I think it’s more about konami and KP than Sony. I’m sure they must all realise that it make loads of money, even just 2+3! but if they cant even re-release mgs4 with trophies then I don’t hold out much hope :-(

  4. Seems odd that is exclusive to Europe, we never get anything! May get it though.

  5. I only played the PS3 Prince of Persia, which was absolute shite. Are these any better? I can’t believe they were worse.

    • Which one are you talking about, the re-boot or Forgotten Sands?
I actually found the re-boot to be the best, but since it’s completely difrent from the others, you may like the others.
I haven’t played forgotten sands, but many reviewers said the game felt rushed, adn way worse than any other, despite still being a fun game.
If you didn’t play the others I recommend you buy this, if you like good platforming and combat.

      • Wasn’t keen on the reboot PoP but really enjoyed the Forgotten Sands. No it wasn’t a classic game but a very enjoyable game if you liked the Sands of Time. Ignore the combat and the platforming is great fun.

    • Prince of Persia 08 was such a beautiful game although the combat was a bit weak the story was interesting all I hope for is a sequel.

  6. wow that was unexpected to come that early and only for europe!!!never played any of the PoP so this will be a buy.

  7. Europe only? What kind of stupid move is that? Possibly the US release is staggered until next year, which would be a bizarro switch of what happened to us with the GoW Collection last year I guess.

I’ll buy it for sure, two great games(Warrior Within is merely okay at best) for what will likely work out to around 20 quid after mark downs? Why wouldn’t you?

Now bring on the Sly and Splinter Cell collections as well please.

  8. No deal. It’s a great trilogy but lets stop with the HD repack and “NOW IN 3D!” idea already.

    • Agree it seems rather premature to be bigging up the 3D side of things as hardly anyone has 3D TV I’m guessing but as a 2D player as long as I’m not paying a premium for it and it doesn’t balls up my viewing pleasure I’m not fussed.

    • I love these HD repacks. Especially for a games that I, or others may have misesd.

  9. So that’s the Prince of Persia trilogy, exclusive to PS3 and the continent I live in, with HD and 3D support, trophies, a bargain price AND a close release date?

    I think I just wee’d a little.

  10. Why exclusive to PS3? Doesnt make any sense. Its not a system seller so I doubt Sony would buy it and for Ubi to limit themselves to one console seems stupid.

Hmmmmmmm. I’ll give it a miss anyway.

    • The whole point is that PS3 is the only console that can do these HD compilations on one disc, plus the “Classics HD” line has been created by Sony to boot.

This raises a point though, is this collection actually being produced by Ubisoft themselves or is it Sony using their previous HD classic team(s) with permission from Ubisoft? Has that been established?
