The Killzone 3 beta keys, in the form of PS3 themes, went live last night on the PSN Store at 8pm, UK time. If you’re wondering whether or not you’ll be one of the lucky ones to get into the beta, rest easy: if you grabbed it within the first half hour you’re good to go.
A Tweet from SCEE confirms the news:
FYI, 10,000 SCEE Plus members downloaded the Killzone 3 beta theme in half an hour. If that includes you, you’ll be receiving an email soon.
Basically, took until half past for all 10,000 downloads to be passed. Seeing as some were nervous that they wouldn’t have got a code despite grabbing the theme seconds after 8, this is welcome news indeed. Let us know if you did and rejoice in the comments!

So 10,000 in 30 mins means that there was about 5 downloads every second!

Downloaded it at 20:04. No email received. Three people on my friends list got emails (even though two of them downloaded the theme later than me) and one who is not a Plus member is currently playing it…..

Wait, what? They are sending emails already? I believe its just that it takes some time to send 10 000 emails so dont panic yet.

according to the ps+ part of the store email invites will be sent out on the 25/10…I do wish people would read the small print…

Sure PS Beta Testers received their code a few days ago which would suggest why you can see people playing it and not PS+ members.

Grabbed it just as it turned eight, so I’m in! I’m on holiday on the 25th though and don’t get back till the 30th, so I’ll be forced to wait a while…

I was so excited when I heard that PS+ members were getting the Killzone 3 beta :-)
Then I heard it was going to be limited to those that are at their PS3 during a work day :-(
That was until I heard they were changing the time, so that more people would have a chance to get in on it :-)
Didn’t get in on Wednesday until after 21:00, downloaded the theme out of hope … then I read this :-(
Oh well, only about three and a half months till the full game is released (I think).
