Jobe to Demo… Something

We don’t often try to scrape a news post out of a developer’s throw-away tweetings. We only make exceptions for huge news, big drama or instances where we’re personally really excited. This falls in to the latter category for us as I was sent a private message from a certain TSA staffer, from the comforts of his bed, alerting me to it.

Dylan Jobe, he of Incognito/LightBox Interactive fame, has just mentioned that he’s off to visit Sony tomorrow in Santa Monica (which sounds like a cross-dressing Father Christmas to me) where he will be running a little demo of the game he’s been working on.

Those of you who are following will know that it’s assumed Jobe’s studio is working on Starhawk, the sequel to Warhawk (which Chris still plays as a part time job). So in spite of Mr. Jobe previously stating that there was “no rush” to announce the game, it seems they are ready to at least begin demonstrating parts of it at the local Sony mothership. Personally I think it would be hilarious if Jobe announced that their next game was a kitten-training simulator. Seriously though, it’s Starhawk isn’t it? Please?

  1. He also mentioned (before) about tweaking the servers, which is nice that they’re still caring.
Can’t wait for this Starhawk final announcement.

  2. I joined Twitter because it used to a great source of news with devs chatting amongst themselves leaking all kinds of stuff, the reason I hung around on Twitter was to see if Dylan made one of those mistakes. Nearly 2 years later…. He still hasn’t!

I’d give bodyparts to get in a beta for Warhawk2/Starhawk, this isn’t just my most anticipated game of next year though – it’s my most anticipated thing in the history of things.

    • lol when / if they do announce the beta, if you tell him that; as cb says ‘you play it as a part time job – lol’ im sure he may reward your loyalty with beta access. I know i would if i was a developer, just like i would have done if i was a killzone developer.

  3. Played the the first one as a trial from the American store way back when but I never really fancied forking out full price for a game that’s solely for Internet play. What is that now, 4 years ?
I’m more than ready to give it a bash now. Spring launch ?

  4. “yourmomandme” Don’t try playing the old one now! You will get spanked…badly! Unfortunately theres not many novices still around on warhawk and you find yourself dying way too much to fully appreciate the game. Wait for the next one I say!

  5. Warhawk is probably one of the most creative online and fun game made something that makes playstation more unique with games like this…WARHAWK 2 BABY :D

  6. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!! on toast.
