Hitman 5 “Finished”?

No matter what IO Interactive say, the rumours of Hitman 5 keep on popping up. This time it’s our old friend and source of many leaks, LinkedIn.

Theo Engell-Nielsen now works for Saxo-Bank but used to work for IO Interactive. Lets take a look at his CV:

Mini Ninjas lead for PC sku, tech & rendering group, games programmer, level scripter, level coder, AI coder, GUI design/coding, PC/PS2/XBOX360.

Finished titles:
“Hitman 4: Blood Money” (released 2006)
“Kane & Lynch: Dead Men” (released 2007)
“Mini Ninjas” (released 2009)
“Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days” (2010)
“Hitman 5” (2011)

Also on LinkedIn we have Damien Simper who worked for IO between 2006 and 2009 where he was a “Cut Scene Animator for over 20 fully finished game cut scenes,” and also lists his work as lead animator on – yep – Hitman 5.

Finally we have Rasmus Hoejengaard who worked on ‘Hitman #47’, ‘Hitman 2: Silent Assassin’, ‘Freedom Fighters’, ‘Hitman: Contracts’, ‘Hitman: Blood Money’ and a not yet released title.’

Anyone like to bet the “not yet released title” had ‘Hitman’ in the name?

Add this evidence to the OPSM Podcast saying ‘I’ve seen things, I know it’s coming,’, Eurogamer reporting the game is out in 2011 and an actor saying he has worked on the game, and we can safely assume that Hitman 5 does exist – rather handy when it’s number 78 in our top 100 games of 2011.

  1. I might give hitman 5 a chance as for some reason i thought they were all crap. bring on a Hitman HD collection.

  2. Hmm. PC/PS2/XBOX360.

    • There were probably others who worked on the ps3 version, but he has no expertise with that platform. That’s what I think anyway.

  3. Hitman 5 developed by IO Interactive and LightBox/Incongnito. Calling it now! It’s what Dylan Jobe has been chatting about…xD, Oh and they are also working on Duke Nukem.

  4. hitman
imo was always best looking game on a console, with gameplay to back it up
with so many of our old favs (& new lbp2) surfacing
its an exciting & great time to be a gamer
i feel quite spoilt almost privileged to be gaming at this time

yes my excitement is exceptionally high atm, trading moh for b.ops £7.99
    but still :]

    • i could never see why people would want to play the ps2 versions as they were very much so inferior to the pc version

      • because the controls were much better on ps2 like they are with most action/adventure games and you could play on the tv.
and please dont give me that impractical advice on how i can bring me 2 ton desktop down the stairs and connect it to the tv using 5 different cables then download 3 softwares and 2 attachments to make my dualshock work on pc.

      • best looking game on a console

  5. This is good news, I love these games! One of the few games where I can spend hours tinkering with the same level over and over.

  6. Loved this on the PC and 360, hope it’s coming to the PS3.

  7. Could it really be ‘done’ and there be so little information about it still? Then again this seems to be a trait since Square Enix aquired Eidos, rumours are around that the next Tomb Raider game will see a release next year but there is absoltely no info on that Either. My guess is, even if it is done we won’t be seeing a release til Q4 of 2011, with unveiling at E3 maybe?

  8. I loved freedom fighters!!

  9. Good games Hitman… Will look out for this one :-)

    • They were good games but Blood money was released 4 years ago and the engine/ AI was a bit stale then, so I hope it has been overhauled for the next game, something a bit more solid and splinter cell-ish.. btu not so much it looks like it has copied.

  10. im assuming he finished his bit of the code for the game and the remaining is still being made.
