A game we’ve been keeping a very close eye on since its announcement, Kellee Santiago, Co-founder and President of thatgamecompany, has posted up the first trailer of the studio’s new title – Journey.
It’s just what you’d expect from the creators of fl0w and Flower; the music haunting, the visuals crisp and wonderfully animated.
Journey is a PSN exclusive and is due out next year.

I so want this. I don’t know shit what it’s about.. but the atmosphere.. looks great. ^^
I expect/hope it’ll have some kind of “selective” massive online something. As in Demon’s Souls where you can only encounter a handful of players, instead of showing everyone that is currently playing, as is the usual for MMO’s..
Although I’m not certain what a PSN game is capable of.

Still kinda vague.. but thanks for pointing me to that post. I did read it before though, but a reminder was certainly in place.
I’m still speculation about how the online part goes though.. I would hate a crowded ‘world’.. but sometimes encountering a stranger would so add to the experience..

I though Flow was utter toss, despite the inventive visuals. Flower is calld “Flower”, so I haven’t tried it – and judging by everything i’ve seen from it, I won’t. Ever.
I do like the design of this new one though, hope it can bring it gameplay wise.

Played Flow on PC and have Flower and really like them both for there style and approach. Journey is looking very intersting with very much an ico vibe in the trailer, feeling of isolation etc. Even if gameplay is poor on this the audio/visual experience should make it worth a purchase for me. Now will be eagerly awaiting any snippet of info to come out on this.

looks like a title like flower where you can’t really describe the game to anybody else and expect them t know what’s going on, i mean how would you describe flower?
a game where you play the wind and you have to make flowers grow?

I was thinking the exact same thing.. You can’t simply ‘describe’ Flower. Flower must be ‘experienced’. ^^

This is almost certainly a day one purchase for me, but it’s great to see a trailer and very interesting that it doesn’t all look the same as the screenshots released previously.
I’ve been following this game since the moment it was revealed and I’ve even gone as far as to make a Lego model of it(links to pics here, if anyone’s interested: http://bit.ly/esmwDV ), so I think it’s fair to say this has me pretty excited! :D

fl0w was fantastic, Flower is one of the worst games I’ve played this generation if ever. Complete and utter bore.
This however, looks really interesting, just would be nice if thatgamecompany could you know, make their games a bit more gamey.

I’m so pleased Flower isn’t more “gamey”. It’s one of the most stunning games available on the PS3. It’s just not for you (and a good few others). Unlike a lady of the night giving it away for nothing, it can’t please everyone.

Oh I understand opinions differ, and mine differ massively from critics opinions but it really does amaze me how someone could find the game “stunning” as you do. I guess opinions really do differ!
I think someone from this site said that the last few moments of the game were more emotionally satisfying than anything they’ve ever played. When I finished I thought I’d played the wrong game, it was just so dull…

Rob92 – It’s like football games with me. It’s a genre that interests me as much as pouring Cillit Bang into my tear ducts does. Every football game would score nought out of ten. Flower is definitely not for everyone. You either get it or you don’t. Much like Final Fantasy games. I just don’t get any enjoyment from it whatsoever. Flower was the same for you.
What’s good is that you recognise this and will approach Journey with cautious optimism as oppose to the likes of cc_star and me. We’ve already got a roll of dollar bills ready to tuck into the thong of thatgamecompany.
