PS3 Mass Effect 2 Demo Next Week

EA have announced that PS3 users still on the galactic fence on whether or not to pick up Mass Effect 2 next month can avail of a demo of the game on December 22nd. The full title will launch almost exactly a month later on January 21st in Europe.

No mention of what’s on offer in the sneak peek. We’ll ask. We’re good that way.

  1. Sweet! My Xbox brethren tell me it’s an amazing experience, but actually I’ve got no clue what it’s like, gameplay-wise.

    • It’s like pure happiness, and the love of a 100 kittens.

    • Same here, no clue what this is about actually. But my hands are itching!

    • Ever played Gears of War? The core gameplay is like that but with more to do and a more fleshed out universe.

      Well worth a punt, got 1000GS for it on the 360, more than likely I’ll get it on the PS3 and platinum it there aswell. However I suspect there might be some disappointed gamers who may find it over-rated. While I did enjoy it thoroughly many people carried on like it was the holy grail of gaming (although a large number of them have fallen silent since it became multiplat … funny that) and, whilst good, it’s certainly not the best game I’ve played this gen.

    • I played Mass Effect on X360 and a little of Mass Effect 2 on PC. If you love sci-fi games, movies or tv shows then you’ll love this. It’s definitely worth checking out. I’ll be picking up Mass Effect 2 for PS3 when it’s released next year.

  4. Love the look of the game, and have been telling myself for ages it’s the one 360 exclusive that made me consider buying one.
    Be quite funny after all this time if I end up not liking it ;)

  5. Played it on 360, will be interested to see how it compares. They say it’s meant to be better on PS3, so I want to see how true that is.

  7. with all the games coming out early next year (and the satck I already have to get through) Mass Effect was slipping onto my “only buy if theres a damn good offer” list. Demo may sway this, or just keep me happy till I get the spare cash.

  8. Great, there’s been quite the lack of demos lately, LBP2 and ME 2 looks to fill in that gap. Never played the ME games, will definitely give this demo a try, and also probably pick up the full game at some point in 2011!

  9. I’m in two minds about Mass Effect 2; on one hand I’m made up it’s coming to PS3, on the other I’m annoyed because I bought a 360 mainly to play this game, I also wanted Halo:Reach and Gears of War 2 but Mass Effect 2 pushed me over the edge.
    If ME2 for the PS3 had been announced before my purchase I’d probably never have bought an Xbox in the first place and now I faintly feel like I’ve wasted a good amount of money…
