Qriocity Lands On Euro PS3s

Qriocity has just magically appeared on PlayStation 3 consoles across Europe, according to reports flooding into the TSA Towers email inbox.  Reboot your machine, and you should see a new XMB icon that says “Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity” under ‘music’.

Qriocity is Sony’s cloud-based streaming music service, and will provide “millions of songs” stored and synced via the internet, and playable on Bravia TVs, Blu-ray players and VAIO laptops, as well as the PS3 of course.  You only need one account to stream the music across all platforms.

The service sports a gorgeous interface in addition to all the music – we’ll bring you a full report as soon as we can but in the meantime click here for info.

Thanks, w3r3w0lf.

  1. Great, i’ll check it out. I had to agree to the T&C’s again when i signed in to psn this eve so now i know why.

  2. Lol i was using my console for 4 hours without even noticing this?

  3. I’ve just booted the good old PS3 up and released the ToS update and wondered what is knew – Scanned the texted and noticed it said Qriocity and thought bingo! Just started the 30 day premium trial. Don’t forget though, if you have Automatic Funding switched on in your account settings you will be charged once the free month is over, so make sure it’s off people!

    Loving the interface, very nice.

  4. nothing here in sweden but i did need to go through the ToS update. most strange.

  5. And for the rest of Europe: No LoveFilm, Videostore, Digital Comics and now this…. keep it up Sony……..

  6. Hmm not showing on my ps3 this morning, will check again when i get home. Ill give it a go, doubt I’ll pay for it though. Would have been an ideal opportunity for give PS+ discounts, maybe in future eh?

  7. Qriocity is Sony’s Video Service (Basically the video store, hence no Qriocity on the XMB) not their music platform as the 2nd paragraph suggests. Hence why it’s called powered by Qriocity.

    • I would agree with what you put, except the bit in brackets. I get what you mean when you say that it’s their video service and that this is powered by the same people that do the video service side, but I have a Qrocity icon on the XMB…or am I missing what you mean?

      • Qriocity*

      • That’s the music service “Powered by Qriocity”, so just Music (Hence why it’s under music :) ). Proper Qriocity if the video version.

  8. Just noticed this as I turned my PS3 on, so did we get it late last night?

  9. More to the point, wheres the Video rental service which is attached to this that measures your bandwidth like XBL and streams accordingly?

  10. Sounds like another “rental” service to me, definately passing.
