LOVEFiLM Answer Your Questions

Ever wonder who reads the comments you guys grace our meagre articles with? Curious about who’s checking your personal vignettes on gaming; insights that invariably breathe life into what is usually our incessantly stuffy and sullen warbling?

We could name-check a few publishers and renowned industry mavens but let’s just say: lots of people. Lots and lots of interesting folk who (sometimes silently) check out the mood of TheSixthAxis’ growing community in an effort to figure out just what the hell your average (and undoubtedly awesome) gamer is looking for.

One such person is Rob from LOVEFiLM. Checking out feedback of LOVEFiLM’s recent launch on the PS3, Rob dropped us a line mentioning that many of the queries you guys asked in the comment sections about the welcomed expansion of their streaming service have now been answered over at LOVEFiLM’s official site.

Well done, guys. People power.

  1. nothing about when the alphabetic list will show more than a hundred titles, making it hard to check out loads of titles unless you specifically search for them by title.

    • Hi Hazelem. Rob will undoubtedly be checking this article for everyone’s response. I’ll ask him to pass on this and any other questions/critiques to the development team.

      • cool, it’s a great service apart from a few minor niggles like that.

    • Yes, this needs addressing asap.

  2. This is what all companies should be like, and also the reason Lovefilm continues to grow

  3. I had a 3 month free trial quite a while ago that I absolutely loved. The only thing that stopped my signing up was that the cheapest Games package was about £14.
I looked into Boomerang, but didn’t find a package at a price that was right for me.
I literally just want to be able to rent a couple of games per month for a really cheap price.

    • yes, they should do a ‘games only’ package

      • I’m on a package for £9.99 a month, four discs per month, two at a time that includes games. Perfect imo.

      • I’m on the £9.99 game package too – it’s excellent.

      • my thoughts exactly

    • I have seen this complaint before and I think I now know why.
I have unlimited rentals per month, 1 disc at a time, unlimited online viewing – £11.22 per month.
I can change my package to the same as the one PoolieMike mentioned and others.
However, if I sign out of my account and look at the packages offered on the free trial, the only game-enabled one is £14.99 per month.
LoveFilm may be doing themselves a disservice by only showing a few of the available packages, as quite a few people are being put off by the impression that the only game package costs £14.99.

      • If such a package exists as the one quoted at £9.99 per month for 4 discs including games, then LoveFilm are indeed doing themselves a disservice, as I would have signed up to that package ages ago if I’d seen it.

Looks like I’ll have to take another look at their website.

  4. Glad to see the ‘industry’ folks taking note of us gamers.

  5. Not answering “Why did you charge me?” and “Why didn’t you get my games back” though ;)

    • I can answer that

Charged you because of the package you signed up to, and…
You used Royal Mail, instead of sending it back by a drunk carrier pigeon with amnesia

      • i’ll have you know he wasn’t drunk, it was an inner ear infection that affected his sense of balance. o_O

    • Royal Mail are still catching up with the problems the snow caused.

      • you mean the snow that came after the problem had already started

  6. I’ve often thought that companies would check sites for feedback, especially A site like TSA! :)

  7. yet to try the service. Ive got too many boxsets to get through 1st :/

  8. Better search options within Film genres is definitely needed for the watch now section. Excellent service though. Especially the 4 hours streaming free for 6 quid package.

  9. Still haven’t told me why they have overcharged me for last month… It’s very annoying.

  10. Considering it’s on a console, it’d be good to manage your games queue direct from the app.
    Any plans to do this?

    • on the blog somebody mentioned that they might not let you manage your game rentals because you can rent games for consoles not made by sony.

you could probably manage them from the lovefilm website through the ps3 browser.
