No Aliens: Colonial Marines This Year

Another one bites the dust. We knew it was a possibility, but according to the latest edition of EGM (February’s edition), Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford has now confirmed that xenomorphophiles will have to wait another year before suiting and booting with some like-minded military types, as the Sega published Aliens: Colonial Marines will not make an appearance in 2011.

Other highlights from this month’s Electronic Game Monthly include how 007 Nightfire was originally based on You Only Live Twice, and a whopping 6.5/10 review score for Gran Turismo 5. Yikes!

  1. I can’t remember if CM was the Alien first person or action RPG. The latter would have been pretty awesome IMO.

    • A:CM is the squad based FPS by Gearbox.
Aliens RPG was by Obsidian and got a plasma round to the face.

  2. Nooooo!!!! Kovacs article got me very excited about Aliens:Colonial Marines.
    “Game over man”
    Not very happy today!

  3. Bummer man, was looking forward to this.

  4. Aliens: Colonial Marines, I now dub thee “The New Duke Nukem”

    • It had better not have to wait over a decade for it :(

    • Meh, too early to decide

      • tuffcub, more like the GT5 of FPS’s

  5. Awh man delayed again. Got this game pre ordered for 2 years now, really want to continue killing Xenomorphs after playing through AvP dozens of times

  6. Oh come on! Why don’t they just prove to us that this game is still alive.

  7. Apaz the gave Gran Turismon Prologue 8.5 and LBP1 a 10. LBP2 only gets 8.5 despite being universally lauded as better than LBP1.

    *scratches chin*

    • wat? Do you know their justifications for this?

      • Mad as a box of frogs? Tring to be the Jason Gardener/Simon Cowel of the games world? Who knows.

  8. That’s a shame, I have been dying to play this ever since it was first whispered in hushed tones! Still, its not been cancelled and that’s the main thing (I hope!). Also, what a ridiculous review of GT5. It is certainly not perfect, but it is pretty bloody good.

  9. GT5 gets 6.5/10. It shows they clearly don’t know what they are talking about. Glad I don’t read that excuse for toilet paper.

  10. I’m a bit gutted about this as it’s one title I was really looking forward to. :(
