BioWare has confirmed that the super-dooper, super fancy-pants version of Mass Effect 2 will be heading to the PS3 as both a retail and downloadable product. As far as we are aware this is the first time a major release will be available to download at the same time as it launches on the high street. There has been no mention of price, or how big the download will be.
In addition EA has released the Mass Effect 2 launch trailer. Enjoy!

Played the first one on the PC. WOndering if I should get the second game for PC also. How big is the difference in graphics with the PS3 release using the ME3 engine compared to the ME2 PC version? Are the DLCs that come with the PS3 version worth it? I can’t seem to find them on steam and don’t want to miss out on anything.

Having played ME2 on 360 and the demo on PS3, i don’t think the graphics are much better (if at all).
As far as the DLC, the shadow broker DLC is more than worth it and should not be missed. The rest are ok, but shadow broker really expands on the universe and story.

Getting it on Blu Ray game disc and I just watched 60mins of ME the 1st one as I played that game 2 years ago on my 360. Looking forward to get this and LBP2 on the same day =D

Didnt Warhawk come out via digital and retail release simultaneously? ME2 will be the first game of real universal acclaim to be released via both methods…is that what you guys were trying to get across?

I still don’t get why somebody would want a downloadable version of a game when you can get a disc one. I like discs more i get a nicer collection and i always have a hard copy of the game

I highlighted this on twitter yesterday, one of the tsa guys, ashgraham i think informed me that at the moment is US only. is that true? Im going to buy physical regardless as i dont want to lose over 10gb of space! Plus it will probably cost a shitload!

Hmm, wait a few hour/days for it to download and pay an unfair price or get it for a reasonable price and only wait for 10 minutes for it to install. Physical wins. I don’t want to have to wait for it to download which means i can’t use my PS3 during that time and i think by May it should be £20-£25.

I would imagine it will be uploaded onto the store in the next update. But this is SCEE we are talking about so who knows.
