PS3 owners really do have a wealth of media features to choose from when booting up their machine. It has been revealed that the PS3 has helped boost the BBC iPlayer’s usage no end, with an impressive seven million show requests in December. This has helped bump up the total iPlayer requests to 145 million; breaking all sorts of records, curing diseases, and locating the lost city of ‘Bob’ (probably…).
Have you used any of the ‘on-demand’ services for the PS3?

Never use iPlayer or 4OD on the PS3, nor would I touch the ITV player.
Reason being my Sony 3DBDP has an iPlayer app on that works brilliantly. I really don’t understand why it’s a web link and not an app on the PS3.
On the 3DBDP, you can use the remote’s navigation buttons to rewind/fast forward, and select (would/could be X on the PS3) to play/pause, none of this use the analogue stick to navigate badly.

i logged in to the PSN and gave my location as the UK and i was able to use the BBC iplayer in Ireland i also got to see the American PSN by doing the same

You can START the iPlayer but the second you start the programme you’ll get the “Not available in your country” message.
It uses IP sniffing to uncover your location. Unless you’ve got some sort of covert voodoo proxy server set up I can’t see how this is working for you.

iPlayer is used alot, but Ihaevn’t used the other two yet, hasn’t been anything I want to catch up on, on either channel! I can’t remember what the last thing I watched on ITV and how long ago it was!

Mostly use iPlayer, and occasionally 4oD. Never use ITV, although I’d be glad to have Demand 5.

I used it a lot over christmas when I was unwell and use it every F1 weekend too. There are also occasionally some decent movies on the service as I watched Cars just recently, I could have just got the DVD out I suppose … Ugh, I’m so lazy.

I used to use iPlayer quite a lot on my PS3 but I mostly use my Sony BD player instead now because the PQ seems marginally better and I can’t hear the fan.
Interface is better on the PS3 though ;)

dont use the rte player as rte is possibly the worlds shitest station. was so hyped when the news broke that we were getting mubi but after subscribing to it for 2 months and hardly been updated and when they do show a film festival you cant watch 90% of the films been showing during the festival, i’ve lost interest in it.
