Crysis 2 Getting PC Multiplayer Demo

Crysis developer, Crytek, has put the word out that soon PC gamers will be able to indulge in a little bit of Crysis 2 goodness by way of a multiplayer demo. They had the following to say:

“At this time, Crytek & EA are glad to confirm that we’ll be releasing a pre-launch Crysis 2 multiplayer demo on PC! Stay tuned for details.”

Xbox gamers have been enjoying the multiplayer demo for a few days now, and word is that it’s a blast. No mention of anything PS3 related yet though – sorry guys and gals!

  1. There hasn’t been a single picture of crysis 2 on PS3 yet and it releases in march. I’m starting to question if its any good on PS3 at all.

    • exactly, why no PS3 demo? Is it substandard?

Offtopic: why do some TSA user gamercards have their own pics?
and how to put them in?

    • the CryEngine 3 runs exactly the same on Xbox 360 & PS3. It looks like Crytek have a marketing arrangement with MS, in the same way that Dead Space has with Sony.

  2. I begining to think the PS3 version is a lie. I have not seen a single PS3 picture of crysis. Or are Crytek going th Sony way about it and not advertising the PS3 version? Hmm this could be very bad.

  3. Crytek have a relationship with MS more so than they do with Sony. The PC demo is to be expected, whilst the console exclusive goes to the 360, because of their upcoming 360 exclusive game… Kingdoms wasn’t it?

  4. I think the reason Crytek have been showing the 360 some love like this, is due to the fact its the weakest of the 3 platforms, and the fans know this is graphically demanding game so they want to show this is able to run on the Xbox 360, and give the 360 userbase enough belief that this game can be amazing even with all the graphical prowess of the other 2 platforms show.
Because if they show the PS3 version and its considerately better than the 360 version, there may be lost sales from 360-only crowd who see the game as a rushed job for the 360 whilst the PC and PS3 get the love and attention to detail and refuse to purchase. Just my thoughts on this..

    • That’s assuming they can make the PS3 sing like Sony’s first-party studios & Visceral Games can.

However they have the CryEngine running equally on all platforms with the console version coming in at the upper-middle end of the spectrum PC settings

  5. I did had a blast on 360 it was brilliant. But I’m not picking this up on 360, it’s for PS3 ;) I always use PS3 I feel comfortable with that console. Looking forward to it in March can do some TSA Meets but yes I do worry that not a single image or trailer for PS3 but I have high hopes on this one (I hope)

    • Yeah I’m the same, we’ll have to play on the 360 together sometime. ;-)

  6. Looking forward to playing the demo when it’s released on PC. Haven’t got round to trying it on the Xbox yet and I probably won’t. I just hope my current PC build can run it well.

  7. I can’t build up any excitement for this game because the original was outrageously boring. Will try the demo just in case anything has changed.
