New ‘Operation Flashpoint: Red River’ Trailer

We gave you a plethora of new Operation Flashpoint: Red River details last week, and we’re back today with a new trailer. This video shows you a little bit about Tajikistan, the setting for Red River.  It also delves in to a few of the objectives you’ll be attempting to accomplish while you’re there.

Operation Flashpoint: Red River launches sometime in Q2 of 2011 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

  1. Am I the only one left extremely unimpressed by that?

    • It does look a little bland, doesn’t it?

    • Certainly not. What a poor trailer. I’m quite looking forward to seeing how this game develops after the first one but that didn’t inspire me a jot.

    • I thought it was interesting, although thats probably because Dragon Rising was so boring and dull.

  2. Dragon Rising was so poor compared to what Codemasters hyped it to be. I’m going to leave this until well after release, only for that reason.

  3. It seems like a more boring version of Medal Of Honor…

  4. Loved the original on PC (still play it) and enjoyed the sequel 0n PS3 despite it’s brevity and numerous flaws. I’ve always found both Op FP titles a welcome and refreshingly brutal alternative to COD/MOH and the like

Looking forward to this and hope it marks a return to the more freeform sandbox approach to missions that was available in the first game. The whole island was a hive of enemy and friendly activity in the original whereas in the sequel, stray beyond the bounds of a mission area and you may as well have been on the moon.

I’ve said it before but will mention it again in case any Codies are looking – don’t bother modelling 100’s if not 1000’s of square kilometres of terrain if you’re only gonna let us play in a tiny corner, it’s a waste of your time and an unwelcome tease to the gamer.

  5. Not really interested in this. After Codemasters and Bohemia Interactive fell out, the Operation Flashpoint games fell apart. I much prefer the ArmA series the Bohemia currently make, which seem to be better made than Operation Flashpoint. Especially after how bad Dragon Rising was.

  6. DR was pretty bad, so I’m hoping this is a massive improvement. Trailer doesn’t exactly make me want it much though….

  7. Meh!
