New StarCraft Game In 2011 Not Likely

If you’re one of the types that thinks PC gaming is dead, you needn’t look any further than StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty as proof that it’s indeed alive and well. Wings of Liberty won a ton of game of the year awards and is just the first of three Starcraft II games we’re going to see. However, it looks like we’ll be waiting at least another year before the second installment launches. When speaking with Eurogamer, Game Director, Dustin Browder, had this to say.

“We’re working on it as hard as we can. We’re really trying to push on this and get it out as soon as we can. I don’t think you’ll be playing it this year. That seems very unlikely to me. But we’re pounding away on it as fast as we possibly can.”

So there you have it. All great things take time and if Wings of Liberty was any indication, it will likely be worth the wait.

  1. Good job they decided to split it up, otherwise we would never have seen any Starcraft 2 until like, 2014/2015.

  2. I’d rather they took their time and did another exceptional job with it than rush out a substandard product. Of course, I do still wish it was coming out next week.

    • We totally need to have some matches some time.

      You must construct additional pylons.

  3. May sound stupid but…

Wasn’t 2010 the first time Blizzard broke the “one game per year” non-written ‘rule’?

If Diablo III comes out this year… I think that’d be enough if we don’t even count a (more than likely) possible Wow expansion.
