That Video Game Blog have been sent some bloodied dog tags inscribed with a website url, findmakarov.com. The dogs tags are also inscribed with the message ‘end the war’ and the personnel details of Shepherd, the bad guy from Modern Warfare 2.
If you click over to the website an image of Makarov appears and is quickly replaced by a countdown timer. That timer will expire in about five days time, right in the in the middle of the GDC.
It sounds like the Modern Warfare hype machine is about to kick into gear, and though no one is going to be suprised by the announcement of Modern Warfare 3, the message ‘end the war’ is intriguing. Does it refer to the end of Makarov, or perhaps the end of Modern Warfare? A trilogy would be a nice way to wrap up the series and Activision can then move on with Call of Duty: Future Pants Adventure (or whatever the next one will be called).

Sony, take note, this is how you hype up a game.
Would have loved Sony to do similar things with Killzone and other IPs.

That’s there stratified the sophisticated way, no hype needed…. The games make there own hype when it comes to sony

Games don’t sell themselves. You think if they never advertise a game it would sell? No, it won’t. Sony should do more hype, as that equals the potential for more sales.

Was never interested in COD, even when MW2 was released, wasn’t interested. Bu then played it got hooked online and liked the single campaign. really good game but since then the hype has got out of control. black ops was crap sorry but it was, single campaign was boring like I can’t describe, online is boring and the zombies was boring.
But I’m looking forward to MW3 not because of the hype but because I’ll hopefully enjoy it. Anything else cod wise from trey arch I’m staying my distance

i learned the hard way to never belive &or get sucked in by the hype.
“Anything else cod wise from trey arch I’m staying my distance” im not alone then, relief :)

I’m so stoke!!! I hope its not a prequel, though I wouldn’t be upset cause Ghost is bad ass. Modern Warfare 3 website http://mwarfare3.com says the game is coming out November 11. What you guys think?
I hope we dont get a 5 second tease, and they actually release some information and stuff. I cant wait!! bye bye crappy black ops

I’ve not liked an Infinity Ward title yet, although as this has Sledgehammer & Raven helping out following the Z&W sabotage it may be different enough to appeal to me.
It’s going to have to go some to be as good as BlOps
Once the countdown is up, I expect to see no more than 2secs of gameplay until E3. See previous MWs for details

I’m sure it will be a hit and sell another gajillion copies. I will pass. Battlefield 3 is coming and Killzone 3 will be more than enough until then.

I dont think it will sell as much as Black Ops (I reckon thats the sales pinnacle of the series – or rather will be by the end of the year) but will still better than most titles on the market. However I think it will mark the beginning of the end and will hopefully encourage Activision to make some changes.
(remind me in a year when I’m wrong and MW3 has surpassed every sales record ever and is elected president)

Battlefield 3. Killzone 3, UC3 & MW3, all musts for my collection.
You can throw Skyrim in there too.

I can see MW3 selling more than Black Ops, it was only MW2 that really got kids wanting COD, so for lot of people this will be their 3rd COD game and probably final.
A lot of people will buy this seeing as Black Ops was a fail of a game and had absolutely no impact on the people online in MW2 on PS3.

I wish COD would just fuck off. Why can’t the silly-fashion-craze game series be something decent and actually FUN? Like GTA last gen.

Nobody’s forcing you to buy it.
