One of the most regularly requested of all PSOne games, Square Enix have now confirmed that demonic classic, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, will launch on the EU PSN tomorrow.
Going on to influence the likes of today’s Fringe (we’re kidding), Soul Reaver’s disfigured and vampiric protagonist, Raziel, could switch between the material plane and a twisted, spectral realm. With time operating differently in bizarro world, the blood-sucking pre-emo goth-head could manipulate objects and his environment before shifting back into the “real” world to avail of the reality-bending mechanical manifestations. He’s also a wraith who causes magic weapons to explode when they hit him. Hardcore.
Released in 1999, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver is highly regarded among action-adventure fans, garnering a whopping 91% on Metacritic. It will be available for the princely sum of £7.99/€9.99.

Guessing this will look pretty nice on the PSP, it was always one of the better looking PS1 titles. Surely the whole series has to be a contender for an HD remake?

I want this, is it safe to patch to 3.56 or does the patch still have issues with the HDDs? I have been waiting to apply this patch since i didnt want to screw my console… but now… this is a must, and imo, worth way way way more than 10€.
Does anyone remember how many hours was to run through this game? I just remember myself impaling foes left and right… but i think it was a huge chunk of playtime, wasnt it?

it was fairly hefty if i recall.
there’s a very large map, and some areas unlock only when you’ve gained the abilities to access them throughout the game, a game in the classic nintendo mold, zeldaeasque you could say, if that were a real word.

Good, thanks, I do remember having to cross ‘jailed’ doors after killing something (dont wanna spoil too much), levitating and stuff, but wasnt sure if that was already on 1st or maybe in the 2nd one.

Re firmware 3.56 Hdd issue, i think it only affects people in the process of swapping out their Hdd. If you are continuing with current Hdd then 3.56 should not affect you. The additional patch for 3.56 is not mandatory to install – you can still access PSN with the original 3.56 firmware update.
If you are indeed in the process of swapping out your Hdd then please ignore everything i said :)

I swapped my HDD like… dunno, 1 or 2 years ago, when I realized we could buy movies directly from PSN. Not thinking about swapping it again anytime soon again, I think I still have like 300 spare GB or something like that.
