DiRT 3 Bags Group B Rallying

Group B rallying has been the subject of much discussion over the years, the sheer power of the cars leading to injuries and worse, leading to the banning of such vehicles in 1986.

Thankfully, driving the cars in a videogame is generally considered a lot safer, so all hail their inclusion in DiRT 3.

Lovely.  We’ll have our impressions on the game shortly…

  1. You have to worry about the sanity of whoever had the idea of putting a 3 Litre V6 and a 4WD system into a Mini Metro…

  2. hah, dirt bags :) yeah i’m childish, so what.

    anyway, the game does look like fun, i’ve enjoyed all the codemasters rally games i’ve played from the original colin mcrea titles onwards.

    now if they could just bring us a new version of insane.

    • I agree, the dirt games have been wicked so far, hopefully this won’t disappoint.

  3. The Ford S2000 is an absolute beast of a car. Dirt looks like its getting back to the sort of rallying that I used to love the Colin McCrae games for. The whole Americanisation of the last couple of games really put me off.

    • Although I enjoyed the previous games I’m glad they’ve gone back to what made the Colin McCrae games great.

  5. That reminds me of Saturday afternoons as a young nipper sitting in front of the TV watching Grandstand, so yeah I’m sold.

    • Lets hope the online play is as good, if not better than Dirt2.

  7. Excellent, the game comes out a day after my birthday. I know what I will be doing that week.

  8. The last two Dirt games were great fun but i’m really looking forward to a return to the ‘proper’ rally events of the earlier games!

  9. Looking forward to trying some of these beasts out. Loved DiRT 2 and cant wait for this.

  10. I really enjoyed Dirt 2, but after playing a lot of racing games recently, I was a bit unsure about whether to get this or not. After watching that trailer though, and having the inclusion of Group B rally cars confirmed, I can say that Codemasters have earned themselves another sale. :)
