Just a quick reminder, the delayed MotorStorm Apocalypse finally gets an official release today.
The game was delayed a couple of weeks back in respect for the Japanese earthquake, but despite a few copies leaking out via eager retailers, the game gets its official outing today across Europe.
It’s a brilliant game, easily the best in the series so far and absolutely brutal with like-minded friends – let us know if you’re planning to pick it up this weekend.

I got this last week. Here’s my take on it if anyone’s thinking of buying it.
It’s alright, but I loved pacific rift, and overall this isn’t as good.
The bad:
The thing about Apocalypse that I was really gutted about is that there are only 3 vehicles per class. ie. 3 rally cars, 3 monster trucks etc, and you only start off with one and you HAVE to play online to unlock the other 2. The 5 supposedly new vehicle classes are really just sub-categories of existing ones. The new boost bar is fugly. I didn’t like the festival mode; It’s totally linear now and you can’t choose your vehicle (or even paint job) or driver. and the cartoony cutscenes are rubbish and just plain out suck. lastly, the vehicle damage is less detailed now, like in PR when you’d crash, the whole vehicle came apart and you’d see all the parts fly all over the shop, but here the damage is not as detailed and when you crash the vehicles explode which looks rubbish and unrealistic.
The good:
The race tracks are brilliant, some of the tracks like skyline and that peir one with the hurricane look and play amazing and are great fun! The graphics are a slight improvement on pacific rift, and the customisation is good, although like the vehicles you HAVE to play online to unlock parts and liveries which, like me, if you don’t like online is a huge chore if you want to unlock them. and the camera view is better than on pacific rift.
a slight disappointment compared to pacific rift, but not bad as a game, just seems like they spent too much time on online and 3D, and not enough time on SP and content.
With a little polish this could be my first amazon review! :D

Motorstorm apocolypse feels different, the Demo really dint get me into it, Motorstorm 1 and 2 were just amazing. But this one feels annoying, they literally over did it.

Great game and does people that didn’t like the demo that was the least best course in the game.Online is where all the fun is in this game!!! And ofcourse the festival. :)

Will definitely get this at some point, perhaps over the summer as I have Heavy Rain to complete this Easter followed by Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and then Uncharted 2 multiplayer. Also need to get LBP2 at some point, and find time to play!
