Xbox 360 Brink Gets A Day One Patch

Upcoming shooter Brink will be receiving a day one patch for the Xbox 360 version, no news as yet of a PS3 patch. A statement released by Bethseda’s Justin Vallejo explains the patch will enhance performance in a number of areas.

The Xbox 360 version of Brink will benefit from an automatically-applied day one update on release, which will address sporadic visual glitches at distance, texture pop-up and some minor networking issues.

Ed Stern, who spoke to TSA about the game, rather prophetically said ‘There’s no one perfect FPS’ and the game was also brought forward a week.

Production wrapped on Brink earlier than we planned and we didn’t see any reason to keep gamers from getting their hands on this highly anticipated game as soon as it was ready…

Not quite as ‘ready’ as hoped, I guess but it’s excellent news that Splash Damage are trying to make the game as good as possible from day one.

  1. Most games now get a day 1 patch, hardly new.
But what a sad state-of-affairs when it needs to happen.

  2. I feel sorry for internetless people, though there aren’t many, I’m sure this kind of thing poses a massive problem for them.

    • How so? It’s very rare that you see a major show stopping bug in the SP component of any game these days. Day 1 patches are 99% for the multiplayer and infrastructure side of things, so this is no issue to them in the slightest.

      • Patches for games in general, for example: GT5 had day one patches, & many patches after that which dramatically improve the game.

    • if you can afford a ps3 and a decent enough tv to play it on, i’m sure you have internet in some form even if its dialup

      • But dialup. God that is slow…

  3. Lol

  4. Can’t wait to try this out.

  5. Not too sure about this game. Looks good though.

  6. Why did they release the game one week earlier than planned when there were still bugs that needed to be fixed?

  7. KeRash…. la noire is your answer!

  8. Is this game gonna be that good?

*taps foot, arms folded waiting for tsa review :-)*

  9. So does the PS3 version get to keep texture pop-ups and visual glitches at a distance?

  10. Cannot wait till this gets released.
Having a LAN party on the Sunday to welcome it in. Just hope all the copies arrive.

    • Perfect game for a LAN :) My mates and I did the same thing for Bad Company 2.

      • Yeah, same here as well as a few other games, however, not many team based ones allow you to go in more than a party of 4.
Mostly for us this game offers a vs AI mode (my mates don’t like playing random people/10yro’s online), but has a variety of game play unlike CoD: BO (vs AI).
Hope the PSN is back up by then too.
