The House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Cut Announced

SEGA have announced that the ‘mutant massacring B-movie bloodfest’ is to arrive on PS3 later this year. Overkill, an on-rails shooter in the usual style of the House of the Dead games but with a B-movie twist, was originally released on Wii in early 2009.

Presented with High Definition, 3D ‘so real that you’ll be crying late into the night’ and Move support ‘so moving you’ll place every shot right between the eyes’, Overkill features all seven stages in the Wii version, remastered and two brand new scenarios built for the PS3.

It’s due to release on October 28th in Europe and October 25th in the United states. You can expect to see more at E3, too.

Overkill Extended Cut looks like it could be quite fun, if the original Wii game is anything to go by. It seems to be bigger, better and packed full of content, although it’s simply an on-rails shooter, so let’s hope the price matches that.

And SEGA say that they’ve ‘extended everything, even the title.’ – so if that’s anything to go by, the game is going to be massive.

  1. I’ve always wanted to play it in the arcades…..

  2. Absolutely fantastic news! Aaaaah! I used to play this on the Wii with my neighbour, who usual isn’t that much into gaming, but she LOVED this one. The release date can’t come soon enough – I’ll clear my gaming schedule once this arrives! :)

  3. Just need point blank HD with move support now

  4. The original used to hold the record for the most F-bombs dropped in a game. God knows how much worse this one will be :op
