PlayStation-Branded 3DTV And Glasses On The Way

During their E3 press conference, Sony have announced a PlayStation-branded 3D monitor and branded 3D glasses will be released alongside Resistance 3 this September.

The 24-inch monitor will come in a bundle with a six-foot HDMI cable, a copy of the game, and a pair of 3D glasses for $499, whilst separate pairs of glasses will retail at $69.99.

The TV and glasses will support a patented technology that allows two players to see separate images on the screen, for use in co-op and multiplayer. Killzone 3 screenshots were used to illustrate the point, but there’s no confirmation yet what games will support the feature.

  1. From what I’ve seen, on screens smaller than about 42in the 3D effect looks like in goes back instead of coming out in front on bigger screens.

  2. Where’s the photo then?!…

  3. Yea 24″ is a tad too small for me, as i have my PS3 setup in the living room it just wouldn’t be practical. If it was 40″ or over it would be a definite buy for me.

  4. 24″ is really the only thing i don’t like about this they should have gotten at least 32 the splitscreen thing seems really nice though

  5. Beings I play in a fairly small room, 24″ is an easy barrier to overcome. I’m just hoping this TV comes to the UK, and at a fair price too.

  6. Hopefully they are testing the water with this and bigger screens will eventually arrive. Will be interested to see one when it arrives in stores.
