EA Tease “Big Announcements”

EA’s Summer Showcase is this week – we’re hearing bits and bats about what the publisher is going to show off but nothing concrete other than the rather obvious notion that there’ll be some EA Partners stuff.

We’re hoping for a teaser for Respawn’s apparently sci-fi shooter, a release date for the Battlefield beta and even something related to the much-rumoured Syndicate reboot.

EA’s PR team (via VG247) is on the offence, anyway – Senior Events and Media Manager Wendy Spander starting proceedings with a Tweet suggesting there are “big announcements ahead!” – hardly unexpected comments, really.

What we’ll probably get, though, is confirmation of Crysis for PS3 and 360.

Any thoughts?  Mirror’s Edge 2?  Road Rash…?

  1. Burnout 3 HD.

    • I have to say that was one of my most played PS2 games. Might be tempted, especially after the seriously bad Burnout Paradise (although I seem to be quite isolated in this opinion, and it got praise from reviewers). Also. I Hate Guns n Roses..

      • You’re not alone, whilst I’ve put some time in around paradise city it is easily IMO the worst in the series. It’s not a proper burnout game without a dedicated crash mode for starters.

Oh and for the record I love GnR, but this game spoiled one of my favourite songs, what with it’s playing every 15 or so minutes

  2. Medal of Honor for 2012 *yawn*

SSX HD Collection and a Road Rash HD Remix/collection would make me the happiest man alive though

  3. Is it too early to ask for more Dead Space? Wouldn’t mind hearing about Dante’s Inferno either…

  4. You guys don’t need to report on announcements of announcements you know. You are just playing right into EA’s hand and giving them free publicity.

  5. Nobody else excited at the rumour of a new Syndicate.

    • Oh yes, very much so! Be an immediate pre-order from me. Imagine it if they integrated Move so you can genuinely point and click where to send your cyborgs…*dreams*

    • Replace “Nobody else excited at the rumour of” with “aerobes would kill for” and you might have something. :D

  6. I want to see something, anything that isn’t a first person shooter or sports game. Ideally Mirror’s Edge 2 (which was a first person platformer, not a first person shooter, before anyone says it).

  7. something related to BF3 would be lovely

    • Really?

See any website in the Western Hemisphere
$100m buys you blanket coverage, for months & months.

  8. Needs to be the next Burnout, and not just a Crash Mode only game. Paradise and Revenge are some of my favourite games ever.

    • Would love it, but to my knowledge Criterion are working on NfS 2012, probably a sequel to Hot Pursuit and are currently on-board with the SSX team making the multiplayer mode, this hasn’t been announced though it’s just been inferred by EA.
I’m not sure they’re a two game studio and could cope with a whole new, full Burnout game too.
