EA Sports Season Ticket Launches

Here’s a slightly more meaty version of the online pass. EA Sports have talked about the features of their Season Ticket system before but today, it launches.

The Season Ticket costs 2000 MSP per year and earns users a number of new benefits on top of existing DLC. For example, the four titles featured will be available for download three days before scheduled release for Ticket holders. There will also be a 20 percent discount on premium DLC, extra web content like customisation packs and a little badge to show that you’ve bought into the scheme.

The four participating titles are Madden NFL 12, Tiger Woods 12, FIFA 12 and NHL 12. Madden is released later this month and all of the Season Ticket’s perks will roll out with each release as they come around.

The press release makes no mention of PSN availability, although the official site lists it at $24.99.

Is this something you’re willing to pay for?

Update: Eurogamer is reporting that EA and SCEE failed to reach an agreement to sell the Season Ticket on the PSN in Europe. So Europe’s PS3s won’t be getting it, unless some speedy dealing can be done.

  1. It is a rippoff. Only two of the games on there are available over here unless Madden and NHL have been released and i don’t know about it. The DLC for these types of games tend to not be worth it and EA have a bad habit of releasing the DLC on the same week as the game that is being released. In fact, Tiger Woods had a DLC that unlocked everything.>:(

I am not impressed by this.

    • Madden NFL and NHL do get UK (and EU) releases (none of the above games are released yet… they’re all 2012 versions) but your point remains half-valid because they’re not particularly popular on this side of the Atlantic.

      • Actually Tiger 12 is already out; the latest game (The Masters) is 12.

      • Tiger 12 has been released. It was released April 1st so it was out in plenty of time before the Masters.

      • Beaten to it by a minute lol

  2. Excuse my language but, EA are taking the piss – absolutely ridiculous!

  3. I’ve got the HOF edition of madden 12, will that affect me? Haven’t been able to get back into my Canadian account since the hack! I know I couldn’t play the us version of ds2 online here, had to use my NA account for that!

  4. I assume by the dlc discounts that this online pass needs to be bought despite buying a game new?

  5. Surely doing this just makes buying the actual game new is pointless if you want all the extra features of the season ticket anyway.

  6. Online pass
    Season ticket

£A certainly know how to grow revenues without annoying gamers, masters of marketing that they are.

The mere mention of Acti launching an /optional/ premium sub had the pitchforks sharpened and torches lit.

    • Excuse the pound sign I hit the shift and ‘E’ key, but accidentally hit the ‘3’ key. Yes it’s apt, but I wouldn’t intentionality stoop to such a level

      • € would be better anyway, but personally I don’t mind the idea of them doing it.

  7. more money people have to cough up.. does not like this… Doesn’t EA know we are in a global recession

  8. i doubt this will sell very well in Europe and Asia as no one buys madden or NHL and the people that buy fifa are usually very different to the people that buy tiger woods. perhaps there do individual ones for each game?

  9. Not really a great return for your money, vague content assurances that can be as little as they like, 20% discount on Dlc which will be 20% more than last year & a badge to show what a mug you are. Clever by EA as you get no physical product for your money

  10. Money grabbing gits!
