PSN Maintenance This Evening

The PlayStation Network will be under maintenance for three hours this evening, from 5pm BST until around 8pm BST.

There’s no reason given for the downtime, but it’s only expected to affect the Account Management and PlayStation Store sections of the Network – gaming should be unaffected.

SCEE expect that you’ll only really have any problems for the fifteen minutes between 5pm and quarter past, and suggest that if you do have any issues to try again after 5.15pm.

“There may be some additional downtime after the maintenance period for testing purposes,” we’re told.

Hopefully this will be paving the way for new features, or the rumoured Store upgrade…

  5. While we are talking PSN, it’s been a while since we had a firmware update hasn’t it? I don’t seem to remember one for a while now compared to the frequency of them before.

    • 3.70 will be out some time in September. The new 7.1 Surround Sound Headset needs it :)

      • Which, I’ve just discovered use a USB dongle and don’t support surround sound for blu-ray. PX5s here I come!

      • i think the px5s need a dongle as well and there a hell of a lot more expensive. the new ps3 headset is listed at $60 on amazon so its likely that there be some big price reductions when it launches in the EU to.

  8. It would alot easier for gamers if they did maintenance at silly O clock in the morning when most folks are asleep dreaming about TSA

    • But someone’s always going to be awake at that time.

  9. Why at this time? some of us are still working and don’t finish untill 5:15PM. Surely SCEE can do it at a later time? I wonder if they are messing around with the store’s code?
