As we said yesterday based on Eurogamer’s rumour (which was apparently ‘shoddy journalism‘ according to Randy Pitchford), Borderlands 2 is a real thing, and now it’s official.
[drop2]A new website has opened – borderlands2.com – which is little more than an advert for Game Informer just now but will hopefully be padded out for those of us unable to purchase the US-based magazine.“2K Games and Gearbox Software announced today that the sequel to the extravasplosive breakout hit, Borderlands, is currently in development at world-renowned developer Gearbox Software,” says the press release, which confirms PC, Ps3 and Xbox 360 versions.
“Combining invention and evolution, Borderlands 2 features all new characters, skills, environments, enemies, weapons and equipment, which come together in an ambitiously crafted story,” it continues. “Players will reveal secrets, and escalate mysteries of the Borderlands universe as they adventure across the unexplored new areas of Pandora.”
The game’s due after April 1, 2012, but will be at Gamescom later this month.

I had some graphic glitches in the beginning – but they patched that. Now I never have a freeze or any other problems. And I still play BL1 !

First one was good. If they could improve the driving aspect the second could be great.

I literally can’t wait. This is the only game that I can think of that I am really looking forward to. Truly loved the first game. It scratched an itch that no other game on the PS3 has achieved.

Woohoo!!

AWESOME! what took them so long!?

Really enjoyed the original, so this is good news. Coop was especially good, some decent players sharing kit and loot rather than an all out dash for the prizes, which suprised me.

Hopefully split screen. I loved playing the whole game with my brother, that was excellent :)

yeah keep the split screen! and online coop and did you see that new climbing monster/enemy in the background? Looks like a new kind of skag! yum!

One of the standout games of this gen for me. Shows that new games can do well without getting massive publicity or being part of a established brand.

Great news, can’t wait for this to be honest.
