As we said yesterday based on Eurogamer’s rumour (which was apparently ‘shoddy journalism‘ according to Randy Pitchford), Borderlands 2 is a real thing, and now it’s official.
[drop2]A new website has opened – borderlands2.com – which is little more than an advert for Game Informer just now but will hopefully be padded out for those of us unable to purchase the US-based magazine.“2K Games and Gearbox Software announced today that the sequel to the extravasplosive breakout hit, Borderlands, is currently in development at world-renowned developer Gearbox Software,” says the press release, which confirms PC, Ps3 and Xbox 360 versions.
“Combining invention and evolution, Borderlands 2 features all new characters, skills, environments, enemies, weapons and equipment, which come together in an ambitiously crafted story,” it continues. “Players will reveal secrets, and escalate mysteries of the Borderlands universe as they adventure across the unexplored new areas of Pandora.”
The game’s due after April 1, 2012, but will be at Gamescom later this month.

Great news :) The first one was great, and the Dr.Zed DLC turned it into an awesome zombie shooter. I hope they’ll make the weapons customizable in the sequel, i.e. you loot single parts instead of complete randomly generated weapons, and can use the best ones to upgrade your gun of choice.

Judging by the comments, you’d think my 99% freezing at mp menu was an isolated case, which I find hard to believe.

He was just raging it had been leaked.

Good news. I didn’t find the driving that bad either, after 5 mins getting used to it. It was slightly chaotic, but seemed to fit to me.
