Mad Catz Re-Releasing Rock Band 3 This Holiday

Mad Catz has announced that an agreement has been made with Harmonix to re-release Rock Band 3 “this holiday season and beyond.” The game will be bundled together with Mad Catz’s peripherals, which includes the Wireless Keyboard, Wireless Fender Stratocaster Guitar, and Wireless Fender Mustang PRO-Guitar.

Last month, the peripheral juggernaut announced that it will start publishing games for the Xbox 360. It looks like they weren’t kidding. Unfortunately, this does mean that Rock Band 3 will only be available on the Xbox 360 when it is republished later this year. Hopefully Mad Catz will expand its publishing license to cover more platforms in the future.

  1. Leave it just for the 360 IMO

  2. Hopefully someone else will publish RB3 on PS3 and Wii, most likely EA Partners.

    • You can pick up Rock Band 3 now from your friendly local game store or online. It was released last October. Mad Catz are simply re-releasing it with their own peripherals, as the words above say.

      • Yeah, you should be able to buy Rock Band 3 for other platforms at places that still sell it. It’s just that the original publisher shut down so the only new copies coming in will be from Mad Catz for the Xbox 360.

      • Well if ever there was a justification for the pre-owned market, surely this is it.. Although Mad Catz may disagree. :\

  3. Have they released the Pro guitar with strings yet?

    • Yeah it was released along with the game last year it was just hard to get hold of.

    • …and I thought it was gonna be released later in 2011? strange

  4. Good to see continued support in one form or another. PS3 version was £10 in HMV today. I still play it occasionally and picked up the Def Leppard pack from the PSN store earlier, that gives me another reason to play again!

    • I played it again last night with keys, such an awesome game!

    • I’ve been wanting Def Leppard on the store for ages! Bought it straight away. Now if only they would get a bit of ZZ Top on there…

  5. No thanks.

  6. This just arrived in the post today for me, oddly enough.

  7. It’s criminal how few this game sold. As you can tell from my picture I adore Rock Band and 3 really is the perfect music game. The flow of quality DLC is phenomenal and the pro instruments with tutorials and breakdowns of every song really can teach you an instrument.

I’m yet to buy the Pro Guitar due to lack of funds but my drumming and keyboard ability have improved tenfold with RB3.

    • As far as I can tell marketing of RB3 was an absolute joke. It also barely got distributed over here (Norway)

      • You’re absolutely right, I saw the odd advert on MTV but nothing like what it deserved. As for the distribution I spent ages looking for somewhere to get my Pro Drums even in the UK, and the Pro Guitar was almost impossible to get worldwide.
