Here’s one you probably didn’t see coming. Leading UK supermarket Tesco has announced that it will be the only retailer in the region where gamers can get their hands on the Joker’s Carnival Challenge Map DLC.
Despite how addictive they were in Arkham Asylum, surely missing out on a few challenges isn’t such a biggy, however missing out on “around four hours” of exclusive content is something fans of the action adventure sequel will take very seriously and that’s exactly what Tesco is promising with the Joker’s Carnival.
Pre-ordering the game from the Tesco website will bag you a DLC code which will be sent via e-mail a couple of days after launch. Those who decide to pick up Arkham City through a regular branch will have the same code stored within the game case.

game do it.amazon do it, play do it ,shopto do it. This is nothing new they are all after the advantage in what has become a rather lucrative industry. I just bought deus ex from my local tesco for 30 quid when preordering another game which by coincidence was batman for a fiver ! Now i know that when batman comes out it will be at least a couple of quid cheaper than the “game specialist” that is also in the store (my tesco is huge and has a mini shopping centre in it). So i am gonna be very happy. if game want to compete they will have to improve their prices or its ta ta.
Oh and clubcard poiints too :) every little helps :)

I’d rather they supported the dedicated game retailers than a supermarket that only gets the big releases in.

A friend of mine used to own a independant game shop in coventry and when gamestation opened and started “price matching” his prices he went to the wall. Nothing new here and i have no sympathy its all about best price and best deal period.

Trust me when i tell you that is not only tesco doing that. Been happening for years. Not saying its right as its not but they are not the only ones. The car factory i worked in a few years ago used to have us working till midnight on a friday for ZERO MONEY and then give us time off when car sales were slow. Banking of hours they called it 50 hour weeks in summer then 30 in winter.
