Activision Planning Big GAMEfest Presence

Activision and GAME have announced that there will be a huge presence at this year’s GAMEfest for the world’s biggest publisher. Of course, Modern Warfare 3 is always going to be the big headline act for Activision and it will be making its first playable appearance in the UK at the retailer’s big show in Birmingham.

That’s not all they’ve got, though. Activision is also bringing GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, the HD version of the recent reboot to the classic local multiplayer shooter. In fact, Activision’s list of games at GAMEfest is looking pretty impressive:

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
  • Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure
  • GoldenEye 007: Reloaded
  • Spider-Man: Edge of Time
  • X-Men Destiny
  • Generator Rex: Agent of Providence

They will also have a hands-off presentation of Prototype 2 at the show and have said that all of these titles will be exclusive to GAMEfest in the UK.

GAMEfest tickets are only available to reward card holders but if you don’t have a reward card, you can get one from any GAME store. You can get GAMEfest tickets from any GAME store or via the website.

We’re hoping to send Adam along to see what’s coming up for the community so you can expect to read his opinions shortly after the show which runs from the 16th to the 18th of September. I’m preparing to be very jealous about him getting to play GoldenEye 007: Reloaded before I do.

  1. Honestly, I’m only looking forward to Spider-Man. CoD is old and boring, Spyro is now ugly, Goldeneye will never be as good as the original, and i lost interest when i found out more about X-Men. I havent heard of Generator Rex yet. Must have missed it.

This still has a singleplayer mode as well though right?

I played it once on a mates console that i borrowed, but i never got to finish it – Was hoping that now might be the time! :)

    • yes, it’s still got a single player mode, I think. Just that the split screen multiplayer will be where it’s at.

  3. Got to say I’m not at all interested in any of that other than cod.

  4. I kinda wish I’m going here instead of EGX, the games sound better, EGX has only 3-4 games that I want to play. Hopefully next year GameFest will be in London, far easier to get to.

    • Clear off :P you have eurogamer in london and a ton of other stuff, leave an expo for the rest of the country to get to easier :P

    • I’m considering not going to EGX after GAMEfest. I would have already played all the games just a week or so before.

Oh, and I agree with Scotty above, Birmingham makes much more sense as a location with it being right in the middle.

      • I dunno, I think it should be in Belfast.
        *ahem*

      • Whilst geographically speaking Birmingham maybe central, it’s far easier to hop on a train/coach to London.

      • For us Southern folks, London is a lot easier to get to. :D You just want to not spend any money on traveling AG! :p

  5. I know that activision will be getting 2 lots of cash from me. MW3 and Goldeneye.

  6. Nice looking forward to GAMEfest I’ve got a ticket for the Saturday.

  7. just readin about sales figures for COD DLC on eurogamer, average of $76 spent on COD games inc DLC, so over here i imagine game plus 1-2 map packs, why dont they just make a console?

  8. Spyro just looks scary now D: not cool.

  9. golden eye. spyro, mw3 = wallet ache
