PSN Is Offline – “Unscheduled Maintenance”

Can’t sign into the PSN?  Looks like it’s down for most, currently labeled as ‘unscheduled maintenance’.

The PlayStationEU account has just tweeted the following:

We’re aware that PSN is currently unavailable and working with the technicians to find out when it will be restored. Apologies.

Community mod RabidWalker backs this up:

Currently there is an unscheduled maintenance on the PSN, which is affecting the PSN and forum Sign In, I will update when I have more info.

No further information has been given, as soon as we hear anything further we will let you know.

  1. PSN was playing up last night, and Sony posted some tips on how to get online working with forwarding ports etc, so they must have known something was up!

  3. I’ve been signed-in for the last few hours.

    • “which is affecting the PSN and forum Sign In”

      It means people can’t sign in, if you were signed in before then you’re probably ok, just like when they do scheduled maintenance.

    • Reassuring, as when we were hacked, they pulled the plug & naturally everyone was signed out.
      The waiting game it is, luckily playable offline.

      • Lol, i’m playing that now too as Resistance 3 froze my PS3 and i had to reboot.

    • I agree, especially after they only said a few weeks ago that PSN is secure as ever!

  10. What would happen if games were only available through clouds like onlive? All of a sudden no access to any games. Always good to have offline as a backup

    • This is exactly why i will always want a boxed product.

      Well, that & that fact that i can trade boxed stuff of course!

      I will buy the odd thing from the store of course (not at the moment obviously!), but that remains to be smaller bite-size games, not AAA titles.
