Crysis Release Date for Xbox 360 & PS3 Confirmed

EA has announced that Crysis will release October 4th on consoles.

Crysis will be downloadable on the PlayStation Network for £15.99 and from XBLA for 1600 MS Points.

The game looks absolutely fantastic and for the price it’s being released at this is a proper bargain in my opinion.

  1. Crikey – £15.99?? I think i’ll pass & just carry on playing the second one!

Might be tempted if it gets significantly reduced in special offers though.

  2. Crysis in a nutshell:
    Awesome visuals, dreadful gameplay

All style no substance unfortunately. Found the second one a pile of arse as well.

    • I agree that the second is awful, however the original isn’t bad; it’s just average.

Warhead however, is a very entertaining game.

  3. Will definitely be getting this eventually. Does anyone know if it’s being given a full trophy set?

    • hope so after that terrible resi list.

  4. £15.99 seems a bit steep on the PS3 considering you can buy 2100 MS points for £15 and therefore have some points leftover.

    • On the flipside you can buy a £20 PSN voucher for £16 if you shop around

  5. Hmmm, with so many FPS games coming out, not sure this will sell will it? C2 was terrible, can’t imagine the first one.

    • My thoughts exactly – This is releasing just a few weeks before a couple of behemoths of the FPS genre. I know where my money will be going!

  6. was the game really that bad? Ive never played any Crysis game and im interested.

    • I love it, I think it’s down to personal preference. It’s a very different style of play to most FPS’ at the moment – it’s more like the Original Far Cry (which was Crytek anyway), and has a PC esque feel to it.

      For £16 it’s worth a punt :)

  7. You don’t however have the option to play with them, even if you’d like to.

  8. Bought Crysis and Crysis Warhead on Steam for £7 (for both games) so this seems very steep. Ugh.

    • Those are both PC games – which are normally cheaper anyway – and have been out a while ;)

      • Agreed, but anyone with a decent(ish) PC might’ve enjoyed these already. I appreciate they’re trying to cash-in (aren’t they all) but it would be nice to see some sort of parity with the prices seeing as they already had the high-resolution assets to port across to a console version.

  9. I would like to try it to see what the fuss was about the original but i’ll probably wait for a discount.

  10. Paid a tenner for C2 & still haven’t played it, so I doubt I’ll bother with this!
