Cheaters Will Be Caught In MW3

Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling has revealed a raft of new measures to stop cheats in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

This year there will be dedicated teams monitoring the game with reports and information being gathered via Call Of Duty Elite and other sources.

Pirates will also be caught thanks to additional ‘challenge response things’.

Challenge response things. I can’t go into detail on it but it’s about verifying what the code is supposed to be and what the code actually is on the client side, and making sure that those are aligned.

Understandably Robert was vague on details when it comes to catching cheaters but it does sound like there are robust procedures in place.

  1. I’ve been playing the the Battlefield 3 Beta last night and this morning, and judging by what I’ve seen so far I won’t be going anywhere near MW3.

  2. As long as there aren’t any hackers in the actual games, I don’t care. People can hack the leaderboards if they want, I couldn’t care less. I only look at the leaderboards to compare me with my friends anyway.

  3. It’ll happen again.
There’s too many variables with online play, that I expect a game like COD will be broken eventually.
I just hope the devs stay on top of it to fix it, and that it doesn’t happen for long time after release.
    But there are always knobs.

  4. I doubt

  5. So MW3 players will fill out a captcha form every time they score a frag?

  6. Pretty sure it will all still happen.

  7. It will be interesting to see if this actually works. Not that I will be in any way burdened if they fail, I won’t be getting this.

  8. But…I like the scumbag cheaters on Call of Duty! It keeps them away from whatever I’m playing.

    • LOL! +1

    • Nah, its just the COD was a lot easier to hack than other games, the patch had absolutely no security whatsoever on it in MW and MW2.

    • What do cheaters gain from hacking leaderboards. Is it so important to be at the top.You could invent something so great that you get worldwide recognition instead of hacking a videogame leaderboard.just work for it dont cheat, there’s more rewardimg feeling anyway.

  9. I’m on the right thread arn’t I, “Cheaters Will Be Caught In MW3.”
I hope this applies to all matches, as so far(from what i’ve read,) Noah Heller only seems concerned with elite competitions.
I want the whole game playable as it’s meant to be, incl legitimate leaderboards.

  10. So basically they will have mods in the game? I mean actuall moderators not mods. :)

This could annoy the cheaters who in turn could try to make the online experence a miresable place thus forcing two people to team up and take them down. Oh wait, that’s the plot to Arby and the chief.;)
