Call Of Duty: Elite Delayed On PC

The PC version of Call of Duty Elite has been delayed. The information comes from a Q&A session conducted by OneOfSwords, who questioned Beachhead Studio boss, Chacko Sonny and the product director, Noah Heller. Chacko said of the PC:

“We’re as committed as ever to the PC, but the need to ensure a safe PC environment is greater than ever.  It’s really extensive.  We need more time to get there, so Elite on PC will not launch on Day 1.  We’re working our butts off to make it happen, but we won’t release it until we know that PC gamers can enjoy Elite as it’s meant to be.”

The reason for this delay is that “the PC is an insecure platform.” Chacko also said that ” Without a central, trusted resource for stats, a lot of our competition features become unfair. We can’t give away prizes when people can easily cheat their stats.”

However, there was also some good news for PC gamers concerning CoD: Elite.  Noah Heller said:

“Elite for PC will be about access to your own stats, or those of your friends. Basically establishing a circle of trust. And because it will have some reduced functionality, it will be free for everyone.”

That’s right. PC Gamers will get free access to Elite, though at the cost of reduced functionality. There is no confirmed release date for Elite on PC so, PC gamers will have to wait for an announcement.

  1. If I remember correctly Elite is free for everyone.
You just have to pay for “Elite Premium”.

Dit anyone try it yet? I managed to login onto the beta. But it is really more like pre-alpha. Blank spaces and error messages being thrown at you, at every turn.

    • I tried the Beta – Black Ops stats were pretty detailed (just a shame I didn’t play it much as I didn’t like it). I doubt I’ll use it much to be honest – unlike BF3, MW always shows your stats within the game menus anyway.
