Modern Warfare 3 dominating the charts is hardly surprising news. It has managed something that Gran Turismo 5 prevented Black Ops from doing though: three weeks at the top. During the game’s three weeks in prime position, it has held off challenges from the likes of Skyrim, Saints Row and Assassin’s Creed.
WWE12 and the latest Layton game are the highest new entries at sixth and seventh, respectively. EA’s FIFA 12 continues to chart strongly with Battlefield 3 also holding a very respectable position, given how long it has been available. The latest Zelda title, Skyward Sword, is dropping fast but should enjoy a relatively long tail, if previous Nintendo performances are any indicator.

The game was released last year to my knowledge on the wii-not sure about kinect/move. Either way it has been out or a year and I am pretty sure that it has lost its “new IP” tag. You are right in pointing out its the first in a series however I made the point of new IP’s which they aren’t any :(
