Insomniac: ‘No More Resistance’

Insomniac games are waving goodbye to the toothsome Chimera to concentrate on multi-platform shooter ‘Overstrike’ and social gaming.

“We won’t be making any more Resistances,” said Insomniac CEO Ted Price.

The franchise will continue with developers Nihilistic at the helm for ‘Resistance: Burning Skies’ for PlayStation Vita.

Of course, there is always a chance that another developer will be tasked with taking this franchise even further but this seems like pretty definite confirmation that Insomniac have left it behind them.

  1. As long as their games continue to run well on the PS3 I’m fine with this, the Resistance franchise was a bit bland anyway.

  2. Can’t say I really care. Loved the first, wasn’t keen on the 2nd, didn’t buy the 3rd. A Crack in Time was tedious, All 4 One is crap, and from what I’ve seen, Overstrike doesn’t interest me either.

  3. I actually quite enjoyed R2. It did bother me that they dropped the coop mode. R1 in coop was brilliant. I’ve still yet to pick up R3 but will probably do it when I have some more time on my hands (which is what I keep telling myself for almost every game out there these days…).

  4. maybe thats why sony never offered them a contract to become part of the family after resistance 2. Then again if you going against Naughty Dog you won’t feel special, ND are like the good child that never does wrong..Dont ask what am on about lol

    • What’chu talkin’ ’bout, Willis??

  5. This is bad news for me. I have enjoyed each campaign on all 3 games, the second not up to the standards of 1 and 3. But the third has left so many unanswered questions.

  6. That’s the worst news I’ve had all year! So disappointed, its my favourite series next to Ratchet and Clank. If they stopped that too I may never games other than FIFA again :'(

  7. thats a big shame but may be they will reboot it if some one else is taking over

  8. Tbh i haven’t liked any ;D
